Hello all! Today I’m supposed to be with my family in my hometown but found out Monday I have progression in my spine, ribs, pelvis and liver so spent this week in the hospital getting bone cement injection to repair a compound fracture in my spine and begin radiation. Thankfully I was released yesterday so I could spend the holidays at home. Fulvestrant has failed and will find out after the first of the year what the next line is.
Having much time to think I just wanted to share that while this is sad, scary and emotionally tough especially at Christmas, there is a thrill of hope as the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn! Know I am praying for all of you for peace, strength, comfort and a blessed New Year filled with hope, healing and happiness! 🎄🙏🏻❤️

Hi Saltandlight. I'm so sorry that your recent scans show progression and you need to change treatment in the new year. Unfortunately it is the news all of us face at different points in our journey with this disease and cancer is not anyone's friend so doesn't care that it is the holiday season. Hope you recover quickly from your kyphoplasty quickly and radiation. That's alot to endure at one time. Try and take the rest of the year to re-charge yourself and think positive that the next treatment choice will be the one that gives you a long period of stability. We are all here for you. Take care.
Oh lovely, I am so sorry to read this. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I got more progression in my Ribs from my last scan. I am starting more radiotherapy next year in my spine and right hip. I fractured my T2 last year, after radiotherapy it helped but unfortunately it's now causing me pain.
I was surprised they are radiating on it again. I found out it was in my T3 which confused me as I wasn't told this.
I know I have it also in my T4, T10,11,L1,L2 and for an extra bonus L3 😬
I think it's amazing how they can cement bones.
I am sending you lots of hugs, I do hope you have a lovely Christmas as best as you can. I am glad you are home. Keep strong 💪.
I’m sorry that you were not able to spend the holidays with your family back home! Hoping and praying that the next line of treatment works for you for a long period of time! God is always good!
I was curious too as I had hip pain and thought my hip broke but it hasn’t so maybe glueing it back together before it breaks would be a good thing. Thanks for posting this.
Beth so wonderful to hear that your hip didn't fracture. Unfortunately Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty procedures are designed only for vertebral compression fractures. I am not aware of any such cementing procedure for the hip...outside of total hip arthroplasty such as I needed after my fracture. It definitely involved lots of cement being placed....in my case my surgeon joked that he needed to call in an extra cement truck for me that day. He said he wanted to make sure all the hardware he was inserting once it healed was solid. However it is a major surgical procedure, definitely not minimally invasive such as kyphoplasty. On another note you must be excited about your upcoming trip now that you have stability. Take care.
yes I sure am! So excited that nothing is broken and I csn go! Also so happy to have Xmas today with children! My Molly’s new house with man with identical twin 7year olds. So fun!
Fabulous! Certainly gives you a reason to keep fighting this beast doesn't it. Love to see Christmas through the eyes of the young. You look great by the way....love the PJ's. Keep enjoying my friend. Take care.
I am so sorry to read about your recent scan results. I am hoping and praying that the bone injection and radiation will help you. I also hope that your doctor has a good new treatment for you to try that will work for a long time. Keep up your faith and know that I am sending you hugs and prayers.
So sorry to hear of your progression and hospital stay. Will keep you in my prayers that they will find the right meds for you. Also a Blessed Christmas and 2024💕. Theresa
Merry Christmas!! You will be back on your way to feeling great with your new treatment!! I’m sure of it!! We have many options available and I’m optimistic we will all be alive for the “cure”!!
Thank you! I was on Ibrance and Letrozole for 5.5 years with no progression and on Fulvestrant for almost six months with obviously a big fail. Praying the next line provides a better long term solution. Best wishes to you!
I really hope so. I had three and a half years on letrozole, then a small area in mammary lymph gland caused suspicion, so moved to Fulvestrant in September. So far it's improving things. I like to be aware and prepared for next steps, so will be interested in what happens next for you. Xx
I stand on my hope in Jesus and it sounds like you do too. I'm sad you missed holidays with your family - that's a bummer. Mine is on my bones and spine. I just always remember that God chose me like He chose Job. Everyone is watching me and my attitude and my reactions. Nothing "just" happens. I choose joy everyday. 😊
Sister Warrior, I do hope/pray that the next line of treatment will kick c's bootie.🧐May GOD 👍give this gift to you of restoration, and health. 🙏Merry Merry Christmas to you, and your loved ones. You are stronger than you think. When we are weak GOD will make us strong. Amen I send you many virtual hugs 😇🙏
