SMALL-CELL NEUROENDOCRINE CARCINOMA

Following prostate cancer first treated with low dose brachytherapy, then ten years later with high dose brachytherapy, from a biopsy following a Turp, I was diagnosed with SMALL-CELL NEUROENDOCRINE CARCINOMA. From a CT scan this was found in my prostate, bladder, and lower colon. I am told that it is a very rare, but highly aggressive cancer. So far I have had 5 cycles of chemotherapy with one more planned.

Has anyone else experienced this type of cancer and have you been able to control it? My doctor says the best we can hope for is to control it where it is. Reading on this cancer it is generally more in the lungs or abdomen.

thanks
