Possible repurposing of anti gout drugs for PCa
There have previously been observational studies showing reduced PCa among users of the anti gout drug allopurinol. Here is a recent study that might explain the observational results.

How long does it really take to recover
Hi everyone I am moving into my 4th year of PMR. I am off prednisone and have been for about 3 months. I am left with costachondritis. I believe this is a common side effect of arthritic conditions. I am taking brufen twice a day to help this and general stiffness. It’s Definately not PMR as first

Hi there - my episodes of AF predominantly kick off at night when sleeping or at 9.30pm. I am not aware of it and can only tell from the Apple Watch readings as it is very clear when I’m in AF. I’m on 2.5mg of bisoprolol and 150 mg flecainide (100mg at night, 50mg in the day). I spoke with a different

Cider vinegar
Hi, everyone, quick question please. I ache everywhere and I do believe I may have gout. So I'm trying to cut down my uric acid levels and one of the things I've read on the topic is the benefit of regularly taking Apple Cider vinegar (apparently 'with mother' is important!) not just for gout but

Thanks to all who replied to my too late for ablation question. Saw the EP on Thursday and he was very optimistic that I have an 80% chance of a better life and he said maybe a month and I could get off some meds! He can be optimistic he's not the one having it done- HA! He said he has done thousands

Blue toe syndrome
Re Blue Toe Syndrome. I have been on Apixaban for 4 years now and only had 2 bouts of AF , fingers crossed. I have however had a terrible week, 2 of my toes have gone blue with a small plaque breaking off and blocking the blood supply. The pain is agonising. There is some thought it could be related

Heck getting older
Hi all. 9 am here in Deland FL where I'm at in the hospital. Drs came in awhile ago. All tests so far came back negative. That's good news. Saw the cardio Dr and we discussed the Eliquis and the side effect of angina. Yes it is a side effect. Doesn't want to switch me off Eliquis which I don't want to

Newbie, not on meds, seeks insight and advice from those using Qigong (Shifke/Molle) and/or meditation (JWH/Dispenza) to try and address PD
Hi All, I posted a few weeks back and was fortunate enough to receive numerous informative replies with suggested alternative ways of managing PD symptoms. Having put in place an exercise regime and having commenced B1 HDT to see if I can try and positively influence my present symptoms, I have also

Your experiences after cryo ablation please.
Out if the blue last week, I received a text message reminding me of an appointment I had today. I had no details of this appointment and had not received any letter or communication. I went along expecting to see the usual AF nurse but I was sent to the pacing clinic and it turned out it was the pre-assessment

What impact does mouth breathing have on afib/ectopics?
I've seen a few bits and pieces around the internet on this, but nothing solid. I also saw a topic on afibbers about people taping their mouths shut, etc to force nose breathing. Problem for me is that I have a dysfunctional breathing issue, which I've had for a couple of years and I'm struggling to

Borage Oil and PMR
So we were just watching a documentary in the US that originated in the UK about alcohol and new drinking guidelines in the UK. A hangover remedy that had some success was borage oil in capsule form because of its anti-inflammatory effects. I’m wondering if anyone with PMR has had any success with borage

Anxiety
Does anyone use a natural supplement for anxiety that works? I don't care to try a prescription. I had severe reactions to Paxil years ago and Dr said not to try any others. I'm on Eliquis. Anything to take with it that's natural? Thanks
