Blue toe syndrome

Re Blue Toe Syndrome. I have been on Apixaban for 4 years now and only had 2 bouts of AF , fingers crossed. I have however had a terrible week, 2 of my toes have gone blue with a small plaque breaking off and blocking the blood supply. The pain is agonising. There is some thought it could be related to the blood thinner and that it has somehow caused the plaque to bleed and dislodge. Anyone else had this horrible event?

I would think you need to see your GP urgently.

I read In the Times yesterday about blue toes being a side effect of long Covid. Do you think you might have had Covid even if it was symptomless? I hope you get it sorted out.
