Is Hashi's causing high blood pressure?
Hi - I was diagnosed with Hashi's last March and am currently on 3 grains NDT (Biothroid). After random blood pressure checks at the dr's when attending for different reasons my bp is now super high. I had a monitor all day yesterday and it's averaging at around 150/98 with the highest being 173/117

Does anyone take Doxazosin to treat high blood pressure? I also take Indapamide and Irbesartan. However, I've been having quite a bit of persistent abdominal pain over the last couple of weeks. I've been on the Doxazosin for approx 3-4 weeks. I've just had a read through side effects and abdominal

LCHF Diet-- Are we eating the Healthy fats??
As a part of LCHF diet , we aim at eating 60-70% of our daily calories from Fat. Saturated fats is supposed to be the most preferred form of fats which most LCHF practitioners follow by eating cheese , egg, full fat Dairy fats, coconut etc . But LCHF practitioners also resort to consuming a lot of extra

Concerned Mother
My son was dx at age 35 with high triglycerides...also hypertension. He takes his medication but his diet is terrible in every way. Is high cholesterol the same as high triglycerides? Last night he ordered a pepperoni pizza.

Vegans save the planet (possibly)
Jerry raised an important point the other day concerning human health and the health of the planet. While it’s fashionable these days to tout meat-free diets as a cure for global warming (I think Angela Merkel was the latest to make a statement along those lines) it’s not really that simple. Some facts

Tapering 15-12.5
Hi Gp has told me to start tapering to 12.5 mgs as I’ve been on 15 mg Pred since diagnosis 8 wks ago. Letting me chose how I do it. She suggested alternating dose days for 2 wks then straight to 12.5. Does that sound gd or should I do the very slow nearly stop taper. I need to reduce, and it’s time,

Wife's bp over 400!
My wife's a former professional bodybuilder . She had to retire due to her malignant hypertension. Her pressure is usually around 210/140. During a recent research study on hypertensive female bodybuilders and the effect of heavy weight lifting on blood pressure. My wife's pressure at 80% maximum load

LCHF could be a boon for Diabetes if practised scientifically, but beginners may face a challenge if he is a vegetarian !
As a T2, You feel great with LCHF diet - thanks to this forum, you keep getting tips from the veterans to overcome the initial hurdles. It is a science - now getting recognised all over as a solution for obesity and diabetes. Once you undetstand the science and practice LCHF, you don't feel like

Finally got LDL down below 70 mg/DL ( 1.8 mmol/L)
I was first found to have fairly severe atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) in September 2016 by a voluntary Calcium Score (CT) test . I was asymptomatic for heart disease (no symptoms ) and was very healthy, not overweight , non-smoking, normal BP, no family history, etc. I had a ultrasound stress

Raynaud’s Disease and Keto Diet update
I’ve been experimenting with deliberately challenging myself with low temperatures . This morning I walked 10 minutes to the local shop for some eggs, wearing short sleeves and no hat (and no hair!) in 11C. The walk back was COLD as I got soaked by steady rain with a temperature of probably 5C or less

Get rid of Food Visuals to Get rid of your excess Weight
One important step of losing weight is to delink - detach yourself from all Food Related visuals ( some call it food porn too). It has been proved that excessive talk about food or excessive exposure to food photographs, posters, magazines, sites, apps etc ultimately will lead you to seek that food

High blood pressure after ablation
I am new here. I had my ablation 5 days ago and my blood pressure started to go up two days ago. I still take the same bp meds as before, and they have added colchicine, pepcid and famotadine to the mix. Could any of those be causing an increase in my bp? It was normal when I left the hospital.
