Good evening all. Since January I have experienced liver issues which was initially thought to of been caused by a virus and assumed I’d make a full recovery despite my liver being inflamed and having highly elevated liver counts after a course of Steroids My levels did return to normal and I seemed

Liver disease, mast cells and antihistamine
I’ve just seen a post on X about mast cells and Covid-19 which mentioned a link with autoimmune diseases of the gut and the use of antihistamines as a treatment.. I wondered if anything was known about autoimmune liver diseases, mast cells and antihistamines. I found this 2017 research paper https://

Mr Alan M
I have been missed diagnosed with liver disease for years I believe that I am still around because I do not drink and I am quite strict with my diet etc. I have also taken a lot of over the counter medication for liver disease. I believe that the disease has been caused by DILI / prescribed medication

Stage 4 fibrosis of the Liver
I contracted Hepatitis A in 2020, undiagnosed for 2 months. Six months later I was told I had NALD and last year I was sent for ultrasound scans and blood tests to check for cancer. In March this year, I was told I had Stage 4 Fibrosis of the liver. Does anyone know if this can be reversed, any treatments

Imuran Side Effects
Taking Imuran for about 5 weeks, started been experiencing many of the initial symptoms I felt before diagnosis at about 2 weeks. At first thought treatment not working, but labs still heading towards normal range. Still titrating down on prednisone . Skipped Imuran a couple days and the nausea, fever

my recent test results
Hello, I’m new to this community and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in February, although I suspect I’ve been dealing with it for years. My initial bloodwork back in December 2017 only included TSH, but I’ve learned through this forum about the other essential tests. I appreciate all the valuable

DEXA and Leaky Bowels
Two questions for my knowledgeable chums. I was diagnosed in November 2023 and after a battle with my GP managed to get a DEXA scan in early April. Results are that this 75 year old has the typical bone density profile of a 30 year old. Yay! Is it reasonable to push for another scan after 6 months

Update to "Graves/hyperthyroid - not severe but wish me luck!"
Firstly not quite sure how threads work in this forum, seems that adding a reply to a thread doesn't bump it, so have started new thread, apologies if this is not the way to do it. I just wanted to respond to previous comments. Several members cautioned me that since my hormone levels were not very

Got 1st blood results since starting Ndt, my T4 is down and T3 up, should I increase NDT or try LDN?
Hi, I've been on NDT 2 grains for almost 3 months now. After 3 weeks on it, I started to feel worse & so I started taking full dose first thing and chew tablets now. I've started to feel a bit better in the past 2 weeks and have had a few days where I don't feel like falling asleep and can do a 10 min

High-Dose Vitamin D Linked to Lower Disease Activity in CIS
High-dose oral cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) supplementation significantly reduces evidence of disease activity in patients with clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), results of a randomized, controlled trial suggest. In addition, cholecalciferol had a favorable safety profile and was well tolerated.
