Has anyone used or considered Methylene Blue in very low dosages for their Parkinson's? Franciso Gonzalez-Lima of the University of Texas, Austin is an expert on its advantages for treating neurological diseases.
Mercola did an interview with him on the subject. Mercola does not promote synthetic drugs but made an exception with Methylene Blue. It was the first synthetic drug developed as a dye during the industrial revolution which was discovered to have medicinal benefits. It is available in all hospitals as an antidote against accidental poisoning for things like carbon dioxide and cyanide.
It sounds promising in very low dosages for neurological diseases and as an anti depressant. Really curious if any of you have heard of it and considering trying it.

yes I use it. Seems to address some issues of mitochondrial damage, improve energy levels, cognitive function and mood. Take low doses. 8-24 drops per day in water @ 0.5mg per drop
I"d love to use MB on my HwP, but its contraindicated with Sinemet due to increasing serotonin levels. But I'm wondering if used at night, in low low doses if it would still be effective as I think the 1/2 life of MB is 12 to 13 hours, but don't quote me on that. I've been taking MB at low dose, about .5mg per kg, and not sure I'm seeing any immediate benefit, but I am quite healthy in general. Is anyone taking MB and Sinemet? There is a wonderful book by Mark Sloan called The Ultimate Guide to Methylene Blue: Remarkable Hope for Depression, COVID, AIDS & other Viruses, Alzheimer’s, Autism, Cancer, Heart Disease, Cognitive Enhancement, Pain & The Great Transition to Metabolic Medicine. I've read it twice, just wish he would have emphasized that Sinemet and MB do not do well together. Any thoughts? Thank you.
I just found out that my doctor has read a book on it. Don't know the title yet. We have an appointment June 19 and will find out more. She is a naturopath doctor and not a neurologist. She does think that my husband who has Parkinson's should try it. So I will update anything I learn. Presently my husband takes Mucuna Pruriens, but it has not been much good lately. I did read somewhere MB should not be taken with el dopa or tryptophan. Hopefully I will find out more with our visit to the doctor. THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE RESPONDED.
I am using it regularly and it relaxes my right body half significantly within 15mins or so. I take 15 drops of 1% pharma solution in the morning and afternoon. Has other positive effects such as concentration when I work and coordination, e.g. when I play table tennis. Curious to hear from others. Planning on keeping it up for now. I don't take anything else medication-wise, just bioflavonoids, probiotics and polyphenlen as supplements.
