Drugs after heart surgery
How long do people carry on taking beta blockers and ace inhibitors after open heart surgery? I had a aortic valve replacement 3 months ago.

Befriending
Hello everyone! I have recently been discharged after open heart surgery and am feeling isolated. Contacted cardiac rehab but I do not fit criteria for help. Is there such a thing as a befriending service where I could speak to someone who has experienced similar? I live in South Wales. Many thanks

Heart bypass
Hi guys Looking for some advice. My Dad is having a heart bypass at Southampton hospital next Tuesday. Up until his sudden heart attack earlier this year he was a fit and healthy 65 year old. At the time of the heart attack he had two stents inserted but was told he would need bypass following scans.

Anyone know what this could be on my smart watch ECG
So I am now on flecainide and Bisoprolol for AF and SVT. I have an Apple Watch that does my ECGs which my cardiologist has the results from. I have been experiencing strange beats that make me feel a bit funny. I have attached a picture just wondering wether anyone knows what it might be. It’s in sinus

always worrying about my heart rate
ugh.. I was having a great day, sat down whilst my food was cooking, glanced over at my Fitbit and saw 58bpm and got spooked. it's usually never below 60bpm when I'm sat down. started to feel dizzy and panicky and scared myself into thinking my heart was gonna stop or something!! this is so frustrating

Slight Injury
So I played football yesterday and hoped to put my new found fitness to good use playing 6 a side. Bearing in mind I’ve put on over 3 stone in lockdown I think I should have been a bit more cautious going into the game. I did a warm up run fully expecting my new found fitness to see me through and perhaps

Criteria for choosing non-emergency CABG?
My dad is scheduled for an angioplasty next week. His flow test and scans have revealed at least three significant blockages (over 70%) one of which is in his LAD. The doctors are planning to insert stents, but said the cath will give them a better sense of the blockages and if CABG is the better option

EP Study didn’t trigger arrhythmia
Hi Everyone, So a quick back story. I am 30 years old. In October 2018 I was diagnosed with narrow complex tachycardia and Atrial Fibrillation from a wearing a monitor. A week later I went for an EP study however they couldn’t induce the arrhythmia:-/ they went ahead with cryoblation anyways but could

New here - experiencing quadrigeminy, trigeminy and bigeminy
Hi, 49 year old woman here with a history of PVC's my entire adult life. They used to be very intermittent, I'd get an episode or 2 a day lasting a few minutes to an hour for a few months, then nothing for a year, etc. I was told not to worry about it and didn't. Now it's been worsening over 3 years

Calling an ambulance...
Ok, so i'm not in case you are worried, but reading some threads got me thinking... We as humans, and especially when we get older, dont like to "bother" people like GPs/111 and A&E, at what point did you think 'something is wrong here' or did you end up waking up in post op recovery? My (short) story

Anticoagulant experience
As I have developed another clot in my heart despite being on Apixaban for the last four years. it is now suggested a low molecular weight heparin for a month before doing a TOE has anyone had experience of this drug and any side effects as I have an intolerance to drugs in general.

Diaphragm problems
Hi to everyone, My wife had open heart surgery 1 month ago. She had her mitral value replaced and her tricuspid valve repaired. Now we found out that she is having problems with her diaphragm due to the surgery. Right side of her diaphragm went into her lung. Anyone out there with any experience

recovery from open heart surgery - slow
I had open heart surgery in February but am still feeling tired, nauseous and generally out of sorts on quite a few days of the week. Is this normal?
