Heart murmur

hello , my husband went for a pre op assessment on Friday and told he had a heart murmur. He is 64 , no symptoms , very fit and active. Has a GP appointment tomorrow. Should I be worried

This was accompanied by a comment ' I wont lie to you but this is unlikely to happen any time soon' I was told some while ago that I had a heart murmur but nothing has been done. Thinking about going private. Any comments would be much appreciated.

Given a family history of aortic stenosis and the fact that I also have LP(a) which is a known risk factor, my GP is organising an echocardiogram for me; he explained that although he can't hear any heart murmur, there is a possibility that it might be 'hidden'. Has anyone else come across this?

hi I’ve not been on for a while I’ve had numerous A&E visits over the last couple of months last Monday it was suspected I had a heart murmur and 1 of my meds was stopped as I was getting very dizzy.I’ve been referred for an echo.

At a pre op for a foot op in March 2023 I was suddenly told I had a heart murmur. This was brand new diagnosis at age of 66. I'm sure I'd never had it before because there is congenital heart issues in my family and I've been checked out.

Have heart murmur and need root canal treatment but have been told 6-8 month waiting on nhs but they will do privately can’t afford this do I have any other options

Started taking metoprolol after open heart surgery to close my VSD ( Heart Murmur). Was on 25 mg of metoprolol tartrate, twice a day for a year. Doctor / Cardiology said I can stop taking it so I did, but waned off it over two months. I quit August 23rd.

The only reason all this came about is because I went for a pre-op assessment for knee surgery and they found a heart murmur. I have a cardiac angiogram appointment next week so hopefully this will shed more light on it all.

Found I had a heart murmur from an incidental finding. Eventually diagnosed with Aortic stenosis which became severe and whilst largely asymptomatic have had 2 instances where an ambulance was called.

ex smoker. have high bp take 2 meds. have a heart murmur and mild aortic stenosis. does anyones ears hiss after decaf coffee i dont normally drink and waking up in morning . now given statins good cholerestrol goid, bad slightly raised ..also prediabetic cos ate a lot cakes biscuits tarts before xmas

Although I have a mild heart murmur it has been diagnosed as gastric related and I’ve been given Lansoprazole to try. I’m concerned as one of the side effects is osteoporosis of the hip - I already have osteopenia. Is this type of issue linked to UAT and could it indicate under medication?

The ECG came back abnormal and as there is family history of heart problems and a heart murmur has been mentioned as a child and during pregnancies I was sent for an echocardiogram.

We took her to A&E for a chest infection and breathing issue and got diagnosed with a heart murmur associated with Aortic stenosis( valve is unicuspid), Coarctation of arteries and a petant ductus.

I have a heart doctor for heart murmur . The question is according to a study , per Tall Allen , Stampede Study , I could drop the Zytiga , prednisone but stay with ADT , Eligard for 1 more year . Im not shure what I want to do . All Labs are good .

hello Im on 2 bp meds. been eating lot of custard tarts shop brought crumbles due to stopping smoking after starting again years non for 4 minths 3 o4 a day even with patches .Have stopped now. so craved all the bad foods so im prediabetic 43 range. I put in a stone in weight due to antideprrssant .

(for my age) In Jan '24 my wife had her head on my chest and commented that my heart sounded weird! Went to GP who diagnosed a heart murmur and sent me for Electrocardiogram, which came back normal.

I saw him on Friday and he heard a heart murmur and has referred me to cardiology. However I have read thyrotoxicosis can cause temporary heart murmurs. I have known leaky valves due to having EDS so I think he's just being cautious.
