Heart murmur

I was told I have a heart murmur. I’ve always had a long history of high blood pressure and only past few weeks started taking ramipril. Ecg and blood tests came back all good from the hospital which I suppose is the main thing but I need to have some other ultrasound scan done.

hi guys, just been told I got a murmur. Need to have ecg in a few weeks. I had chest pain the other evening- just wondering if they can cause heart attack? I don’t think I’ve had one, but I’m a silly hypochondriac and I’m supposed to be going away tomorrow.

hello , my husband went for a pre op assessment on Friday and told he had a heart murmur. He is 64 , no symptoms , very fit and active. Has a GP appointment tomorrow. Should I be worried

Hi Im 4 months post op aortic valve replacement and had a routine appointment at my GP’s who has worried me as she said she can hear a heart murmur 😩. Has anyone else still had a heart murmur after valve replacement?

I’ve been taking it for around 2-3 months and just been told I have a heart murmur.

This was accompanied by a comment ' I wont lie to you but this is unlikely to happen any time soon' I was told some while ago that I had a heart murmur but nothing has been done. Thinking about going private. Any comments would be much appreciated.

I have also recently been told I have a heart murmur, eltrocardio/blood tests were ok, just waiting on echo! I’ve also started getting regularbouts of indigestion- lasts for over an hour- even if I just have a cup of tea. is there a link between such medications?

I was diagnosed with a heart murmur during my first pregnancy but don't think that's unusual. I am being sent for a long function test in July as GP suspects COPD (I have never smoked) but my lungs may be compromised due to the scoliosis.

At a pre op for a foot op in March 2023 I was suddenly told I had a heart murmur. This was brand new diagnosis at age of 66. I'm sure I'd never had it before because there is congenital heart issues in my family and I've been checked out.

Pulse ,listened to my heart and lungs. She did detect a light heart murmur but did say she had a particularly sensitive stethoscope that picked up the faintest sounds.

Started taking metoprolol after open heart surgery to close my VSD ( Heart Murmur). Was on 25 mg of metoprolol tartrate, twice a day for a year. Doctor / Cardiology said I can stop taking it so I did, but waned off it over two months. I quit August 23rd.

Given a family history of aortic stenosis and the fact that I also have LP(a) which is a known risk factor, my GP is organising an echocardiogram for me; he explained that although he can't hear any heart murmur, there is a possibility that it might be 'hidden'. Has anyone else come across this?

hi I’ve not been on for a while I’ve had numerous A&E visits over the last couple of months last Monday it was suspected I had a heart murmur and 1 of my meds was stopped as I was getting very dizzy.I’ve been referred for an echo.

The only reason all this came about is because I went for a pre-op assessment for knee surgery and they found a heart murmur. I have a cardiac angiogram appointment next week so hopefully this will shed more light on it all.

Have heart murmur and need root canal treatment but have been told 6-8 month waiting on nhs but they will do privately can’t afford this do I have any other options

Found I had a heart murmur from an incidental finding. Eventually diagnosed with Aortic stenosis which became severe and whilst largely asymptomatic have had 2 instances where an ambulance was called.

I have a moderate heart murmur and, about 7 months ago, was prescribed Apixaban, Bisoprolol and Dipagliflozen.. I know that the first two have been linked to RLS and my question is - could those medications suddenly trigger the change I’m experiencing after as long as 7 months?

I've had a heart murmur for years which has been monitored but all of a sudden it became severe and had to be replaced urgently.So it got me thinking, I haven't looked after myself as well as I could of done but here I am in the same place as all these people who have.

When she listened to my heart she asked if I knew I have a heart murmur - I did not. Long story, short. Today I had a heart echocardiogram. It’s been reported that I have a severe mitral valve prolapse. The doctor said it’s the kind of damage they see after someone has a heart attack!

I was in an and e on Saturday and the doctor said she could hear a heart murmur and is querying either atrial fibrillation or aortic stenosis. I am walking my cocker spaniels once a day but I can only walk very slowly because I feel so weak.
