Liver Ultrasound Question

Hello!

I had an abdominal ultrasound today including my liver due to a recent blood test showing very high on all the liver tests… my GP is suspecting Non-alcoholic fatty liver… I know I have to wait for the ultrasound report to come back, but the radiologist who did the scan said that my liver was showing bright on the scan? Does anyone know what this means? All she said when I asked was that the report would go back to my GP, and I have a follow up telephone consultation with my GP in 6 weeks time.

As an aside, I am making a conscious effort to loose weight - I have a condition where my body doesn’t produce enough growth hormone so my GP thinks it’s also to do with my short height as well… however my thyroid is showing signs of struggling and I’m not far off an official diagnosis of an underactive thyroid too - so loosing weight is easier said than done!

"my liver was showing bright on the scan" please wait for your GP's confirmation but as far as I know it is a sign of fatty liver.

Thank you… yes that’s what my GP suspected it could be when she referred me for the scan so that would make sense, thank you!

Over the last couple of years my thyroid hormones were low, Hypothyroidism. I don't eat or cook with salt so I read maybe my iodine level is low. I bought salt with iodine and sprinkle just a pinch once in a while. That tiny bit has perked up my thyroid for the last 2 blood tests.
