Advice on blood results please- why no improvement in T3?
hi everyone, advice welcome for my recent Medichecks test please. I introduced 6.5mcg of T3 in September and took my levo down to 75/100 on alternate days, I hoped this would increase my % of T3 as I am a poor converter and have two copies of faulty DIO2 gene. I also hoped this increase in T3 would

statins and leg cramps/spasms
Most recent fasting blood test showed total
cholesterol
at 2.4 mol/L;
HDL
0.75 mol/L and LDL 1.01 mol/L. Has anyone out there experienced these effects from statins?.

Blood test and elevated ALT concerned
However my cardiologist is reluctant to change even my total
cholesterol
is 2.1 LDL 0.8 Tri 0.7
Hdl
1.0 I am 44,quite fit always and now I am doing good diet, exercises and walk regularly. Does statin elevate ALT? Should I request for further testing?

What's in a word?
I recently attended a Primary Care Network meeting as a patient, and in talking about
cholesterol
, referred to
HDL
. Admonished for using jargon, I then said high-density lipoprotein: that resulted in blank looks. Perhaps it's not easy to convert medical-speak into plain English.

Euthyroid Sick Syndrome
Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with Euthyroid Sick Syndrome or thinks they may have it? I am now beginning to think that my problems are due to this and not Hypothyroidism. Am thinking of getting a reverse T3 test but it's quite expensive. This cannot be treated with meds so

Triglycerides
I’m very pleased to say my total cholesterol has gone from 6.4 to 4.6 from March this year to August. I worked hard with diet mainly and exercise. However my triglycerides weren’t included in this blood test. Has anyone found that due to their thyroid problems that their triglycerides are raised?

Statins and Liver
Not really had any problems and was happy to know that my
cholesterol
went down to 4.1 after 6 months,
HDL
being higher than the LDL. However, my Liver Test showed there was an increase in the ALT number, 48 outside the range 0-35. I will have another blood test in 3 months time.

Appt at Lipids Clinic and discussion about thyroid levels
So I had an appointment this morning at the Lipids Clinic, referred by GP, as total cholesterol was 8.7, when annual thyroid bloods taken earlier this year. I said to GP that I didn’t want to automatically go onto statins because of counter-indications and that I thought perhaps I should increase

I know I'm slow but...
Well, I've completed Week 1 of the NRC 10K plan as helpfully posted by CDBD. Was surprised when I checked the stats for the Next Speed Run. My pace for the first interval at 5K pace was 11.26 minutes per K, which was much slower than even my warm up pace and I certainly thought I was putting in more
