Mucuna without Sinemet?
Can anyone tell me how to get more symptom relief from just taking mucuna, (specifically NOW brand) alone, WITHOUT taking any Sinemet? I’ve read about green tea enhancing its effectiveness….any other ideas?

Horizant tapering
Dear All: Apologies- I might be unintentionally reposting this: I have been on Horizant for about seven months, at 600mg in the morning and 600mg in the evening (1,200 mg total). Before that, I was on 600mg Gabapentin daily for two years. Recently, my doctor and I have agreed to reduce my Horizant

Need advice on my tremor symptoms
Hi all, I would very much appreciate some advice on my symptoms. I am not on medication yet but am taking mucana, b1, l-tyryosine, b complex and magnesium. I am a year away from diagnosis. Is this typical of PD? My Dr. is unsure as well. He is going to probably put me on sinemet to see how I respond

Bladder problems..... the saga continues......
Well husband has has his bladder control review report. We alreeady know only part of it is functional. (we've been enquiring about a catheter. I guess this is the 1st step). The conclusion. His diabetic medication needs reviewing. His Sinemet may be causing the problem (even though it started long before

any CARNIVORE DIETers out there?
As an experiment, I've gone Carnivore! I have been hearing a lot of amazing testimonials recently. Many are from doctors that have done this themselves. I figured I'd try it out myself. What's the worst that can happen? I already have Parkinsons Disease! I know, I know! What about FIBERRRRR? What

K0706 Clinical Trial
I'm recently diagnosed and have not started any PD meds, though my neurologist says Sinemet would probably help my symptoms. I'm not having terrible or disruptive symptoms, just an annoying leg tremor, fatigue and stiffness. I see a PT and exercise, which really helps with the stiffness. I'm postponing

Get off Sinemet?
My husband does not have tremors, but definitely has drooling, is stooped, is stiff and slow, at times has fast gait and/ or severe hesitation with moving, all classic PD symptoms as well as has some cognitive decline. Diagnosed with atypical PD in May 2022. He is doing many wonderful alternative therapies

Parkinson's wife
My husband was diagnosed about 4 years ago though I suspect Parkinsons was developing long before that. Main problem - neither Sinemet or Madopar has any effect on bradykinesia or tremor (let alone the non motor symptoms)and increasing medication e.g. Neupro patch = rotigotine dopamine agonist only

Food and "off" times
Hi Everyone! Recently I've had frustrating issues with eating a meal followed by "off" times of a few hours. I know about keeping proteins away from sinemet as they compete for the same receptors in the gut. I can time my dose of sinemet (a generic, 25/100, 3 x day) an hour before eating a meal, feeling

Practical suggestions for PWP.....Hedge against medication scarcity.
With the increasing prospect of medication scarcity as most of our meds in the U.S. and elsewhere are manufactured predominantly in China and India, we should all take measures to protect ourselves. I always reorder my meds on time even if i still have some remaining. I save the rest. At times i

Sinemet? Too much or not enough?
I’ve been on sinemet for 14 years and my average dose has been 1, sometimes 1 1/2 pills every 3 to 4 hours. I’m on no other medication, just the sinemet. I do use other things though like supplements and cbc and I stick to a strict diet and exercise plan, all geared towards the Parkinson’s and so far

Checking in
Hello, everyone. After about 2 year break decided to check in on this platform. My dad is 88 now and has had Parkinson's for about 9 years. I was doing a lot of research when he got sick to find a magic cure/help for his condition. Started with Mucuna, which never helped with tremors, and B vitamin therapy

Fava Beans for Parkinson's?
This is a very good post that discusses the use of Fava Beans as a source of Levodopa and as a natural addition or adjunct to Sinemet. https://www.scienzavegetariana.it/nutrizione/favabeans.html

Are there common side-effects to Rytary withdrawal?
I've been on Rytary for 2 years. Before that I had been on Sinemet for 4 years. I quit taking Rytary about a month ago. My only side effect seems to be insomnia. Maybe insomnia is the wrong word. Eventually I get tired and can sleep for a few hours. But I doubt it adds up to 8 hours over

Has anybody found a way to reduce dyskinesia without Amantadine?
For many years, sinemet worked fine for me, but now I'm one of those people who gets dyskinesia from it. I've tried different combinations of amantadine and GoCovri (extended release). but it doesn't have much effect. So I take as little Sinemet as I can get away with. First dose at noon. There are

Hello, My mum was diagnosed in Feb 21 with Parkinson’s. She has recently been experiencing distressing crashing sounds (usually when she wakes, but not always). I appreciate this is probably Parkinson’s related, and would like to hear from anyone else suffering a similar experience. She has been on
