Underprescribing Sinemet for PD?
In 'The New PD Treatment Book' (2015) by Eric Ahlskog he says on page 164, start with one carbidopa/levodopa 25/100 3x daily, week 2 up the dose to 1.5 tablets 3x daily, week 3 increase to 2 tablets 3x daily, week 4 increase to 2.5; week 5 try 3 tablets 3x daily. His aim is to find by trial and error

MSA medication

Back Pain at Night
After sleeping for 4 hours, I wake up with backache (muscle, I guess). The pain is not always in one spot. The location of the pain shifts in the back. It is not directly on the spine. The pain location changes while rubbing anywhere from the back of the neck to lower back. Rubbing/massage helps to

I leave here a translation from my last facebook post. Consider it as my 11 months FUS Surgery update.
Sorry for some bat translations, i'm not an english native speaker. Évora 21-27 Évora Half Marathon – 10 Km race The day started not too early, 7:45, I tried to sleep until I could, not out of laziness, but to try to have as much rest as possible and also to be able to delay taking the medication

Numb Feet
Well I have succeeded in stopping both the Ropinerole slow release and the Sinemet Plus ! I am now on 600mg of Pregabalin and I don’t think it’s helping much at all and just a quick note thanks to reading some of the posts here I also stopped the Fluoxetine and it had a dramatic impact. My RLS improved

The Looong Road
I am completely off Ropinerole and have also weaned myself off Fluoxetine but am struggling with Sinemet. When I finally stopped the antidepressant the RLS through the day reduced quite dramatically which really surprised and delighted me , it hasn’t stopped or reduced the evening and night sadly. Although

Spanning an octave - Sinemet does it again
This is bound to be premature. I can feel the regret coming on. Just a bit of patience Winnie. Guess who's on Sinemet? Not as I wanted - but maybe my neuro knows more than I gave him credit for. I have switched back to the guy who diagnosed me, and is (relatively) just up the road. I explained that

Does acupuncture help tremor?
Does acupuncture help tremor? My partner has tremor which is distressing. He was diagnosed 2 years ago and given sinemet but this does not help with the tremor. I’ve read that acupuncture helps and wonder if anyone here has experience?

Gastroparesis treatment?
Gastroparesis seems to be common to PD. Yesterday I realized I hadn't eaten for 15 hours but still had food in my stomach. Rytary or Sinemet are amino acids. Stomach acids must break proteins into amino acids before they can exit the stomach and be absorbed into the blood stream. The same

Mucuna dosage question
I am into my sixth year of PD. Up until now, I have avoided taking any PD drugs, relying entirely on supplements, in particular high dose B1. About 10 days ago, I started taking mucuna. I have been taking capsules from piping rock, one in the morning and one in the evening. Not feeling any particular

elevated TSH since PD diagnoses
Since being diagnosed 2 years ago, my thyroid meds have been decreased 3 times. My most recent blood test had a jump in TSH from 2 to 14 which states I am once again under-medicated, but clinically I feel fine. Has anyone else had these fluctuations in blood results from an underactive thyroid? If

Increasing Sinemet and Nourianz
Basically my mom has been on the same sinemet dose since diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2016 (1 sinemet every four hours and 1 azilect). So my moms doctor has prescribed nourianz and increased her sinemet from 1 tablet (25-100) every four hours to 1 1/2 tablet every four hours. Has anyone had success

PLEASE HELP! ARE YOU ON RYTARY AND YOUR MEDICATION SOMETIMES DOES NOT " KICK IN" IN THE MORNINGS?
Hi Kindly respond to this post if you use sinemet tablet as a bridge to make the Rytary work. If you do this, how much sinemet do you use? Will this method disrupt the functioning of Rytary as a slow release medication designed to work up to 3hours or more, on the long run leading to motor fluctuations
