Bladder problems..... the saga continues......

Well husband has has his bladder control review report. We alreeady know only part of it is functional. (we've been enquiring about a catheter. I guess this is the 1st step).The conclusion.

His diabetic medication needs reviewing.

His Sinemet may be causing the problem (even though it started long before he was put on it).

Constipation and sleep apnoea (if he has sleep apnoea) could be the cause.

And lastly "I do not know whether a diagnosis of multisystem atrophy or parkinsonism will have an affect on bladder function". - sigh.........

I feel like sending the consultant a leaflet on MSA. 🤦‍♀️

Extraordinary! How can they specialise in urology and not bother to find out whether MSA affects his bladder. They might not know beforehand but not tricky to check with a neurologist. Let alone one of the official websites.

It really feels like an "I can't be bothered with this". Sadly we've had this problem a lot over the past 3 years.

Sounds so familiar. Do send the MSA Trust leaflets, our GP found them very useful. Speak to MSA nurses, again brilliant. For my husband, urology was a long decline, many problems with catheters and infections. A supra pubic catheter was fitted, and though there were some issues, it was so much better.
