My Dads haemoglobin is 5 .

I have low haemoglobin, low MCMH, low CPK and low platelets but my iron levels, TSH, T4 are all good. Thank you

I’m hoping my haemoglobin will also. How I wish to be above 100. Am I asking for too much? On a different topic I stumbled across ‘The Spoon Theory’ Thank you very much to whoever posted it. It’s brilliant.

I went for blood tests today, one reason being my low haemoglobin but the nurse said it was also being tested for high potassium along with numerous other thinhs. This is the first I had heard about and the nurse was concerned that the doctor would phone me tomorrow.

I was recently summoned by my surgery to have a Haemoglobin A1c level blood test for type 2 diabetes, which apparently I had 3 years ago, but do not recollect at all. The result was that it was 42 mmol/mol (whatever that means?) an increase from 41 in 2018.

I had to imagine I was a haemoglobin molecule sitting in a boat (red blood cell) and was guided through various adventures which depicted the oxygenation and deoxygenaton of blood. I'm one of those strange people who enjoy guided imagery and get really caught up in it.

TSH- 0.02 Range 0.27-4.2 T4. 20.4 Range. 12-22 T3. 7.1 Range 3.1-6.8 Haemoglobin 132 Range 120-150 Ferritin 85 Range 13-150 my ferritin is only up slightly it would be better 120. B12 743 Range 197-771 Folate 10.5 Range 3.9-26.8 Many thanks 😊

I had numerous blood tests and slowly over time my hemocrit and haemoglobin came down to a healthy normal range! not sure why it was up for a bit but since it’s been down it’s stayed down and I have been discharged from haematology!

The reason I am posting this is to find out if anyone else on here has been in a similar situation, and did eventually get a diagnosis of a blood disorder, I have also twice been given iron tablets as my haemoglobin levels were slightly low but returned to normal . Thanks for any help on this

Feeling a bit strange - history so far :- Dec - tried to give blood, been a donor for a long time, but got knocked back because haemoglobin was a “tad under”. So went to doctors and they run a full blood sample. Jan - blood sample “lost” so went back and gave some more.

He said my red blood cell count and haemoglobin was alright except that the MCH levels were high. When I pressed him for an answer about that he said that that can mean a number of things including a B12 or folate deficiency.

My bloods at the moment are good ie, iron, ferritin haemoglobin. Two drs have just casually mentioned a hysterectomy as a solution. I’m at my wits end and wondered if anyone has any advice on what questions to ask if they don’t see what’s happening. Many thanks in advance Rfc x

The main problem is I'm anaemic, haemoglobin down to 90, if it keeps falling I'd need a 2nd transfusion, but the doc reckons it will start to rise naturally soon.

,with dizziness spinning and low blood pressure.She had B12 deficiency a few years ago and was given loading doses but it was stopped when they retested, her folate has been low and she got folic acid for 4 months which helped.Told yesterday her folate was checked in March an it was 4(range:2.6-20).Haemoglobin

Therefore I wasn't too surprised when I got knocked back during a blood donation attempt as haemoglobin levels were too low. Supplementing with iron tablets over the next week, then will try again.
