Wanted to throw this out there to see if I'm being unrealistic. I'm fairly health guy . Exercise regularly. Cholesterol levels are good. No high blood pressure.Recently had 3 stents put in and have PAF. I'm taking Eliquis,Lipitor, Coreg, Tikosyn and Plavix. I believe sometimes that less is more. I'd

I found this very useful page on the NOAC's giving details of kidney function, starting, changing and undergoing surgical procedures with these drugs. Thought I would share it for those who haven't seen it. http://www.cumbria.nhs.uk/ProfessionalZone/MedicinesManagement/Guidelines/Prescribing-Guidance-for-NOACs.pdf

FBS not under control.
Dear Friends, I managed to control my AIC from 11.2 to 6.9 in 3 months, primarily with LCHF but with medicine continuation ( Refer my earlier post for details) Since last one month I tried to reduce meds I take night. I cut off 2MG AMARYL, 30 MG ACTOS from my night medicine. My FBS gradually kept increasing

My GP Asked if the weather affects my aches and pains?
Had to go to the GP to get some more Gout tablets as it performing and near the end of them again. He said that maybe I should be on a permanent tablet to prevent the flair ups? but until I am clear it is not a good idea as it can bring it on and keep it if it is still playing up? This is were it

Fibro and gout
I am in a great deal of pain at the moment in my right knee and ankle. This started in March, took the summer off and has now returned. Last time the doctor suggested it could be gout as I already have it in my hands and feet. I am now having blood tests and thankfully as I only had my last blood tests

ASCO 2014: Dr. Susan O'Brien Speculates on Combinations with Ibrutinib to Get a Complete Remission in CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia)
Friends, In this audio post on my blog, ( http://bkoffman.blogspot.com ) Dr. O'Brien gives some very informed speculation on what combination therapies with ibrutinib might be helpful in the future. She is very good at separating out what is known, and what is thought to be, but not yet proven. Brian

Thyroid binding globulin
When is it worth testing for Thyroid binding globulin (note: Not thyroglobulin). I am wondering if this could be implicated in why I cant seem to respond to a high dose of T3.

now I'm even more confused & I don't see the Hemayolgist until mid-Aug. I went online & found out some test results from the new Hematologist who redid everything (blood work): 1) beta 2 is high 2) "CD38 expression is dim heterogeneous. ABNORMAL CELL IMMUNOPHENOTYPE: (+) CD5, CD19, dim CD20, CD23

Who do you talk to when you feel very down?
I feel like I haven't been allowed to be honest to anyone about how very down I feel. Being ambivolent about accepting renal replacement therapy has led to wild accusations from doctors - that I am begging for money, manipulative. They don't seem to get it - some of us have been so bullied by bad partners
