New to this and need help understanding thyroid bits and bobs
Hi everyone I was hoping someone could help me interpret some results. Background: About 5 years ago I had a blood test for a pain in my stomach and the doctor mumbled something that 'my thyroid was on its way down...' nothing more was said and the pain resolved itself. Then 3 years ago in the space

Acute pain...and strange stomach noises
My 20 yr old daughter has Endo and last saturday had sudden onset acute pain below bellybutton (always in some pain). Became so severe that even her Morphine (not taken morphine for several months) would not stop it so ended up going to hospital via ambulance. They would/could not scan as weekend, or

Feeling rubbish- DR has given anti-ds but is it my thyroid??
Hi all, I could do with some help. I've been hypo for roughly 6 years, exacerbated by pregnancy with my son who is now 5. I've been taking 125 micrograms levo for about a year. Up until June (2017) I was feeling good, no hairloss and exercising regularly and eating well. Cue June and I started to feel

Self Injecting B12
Hi My B12 is always low unless I supplement. I am so sick of taking so many pills every day to assist in my health upkeep. I have Hashimoto’s which had advanced enough to cause Primary Hypothyroidism. I also have Coeliac Disease but this is well controlled with a strict Gluten Free Diet. Does anyone

Help with blood results please
Hello lovely thyroid people, I was diagnosed with hashimotos a year ago. I've been on varying doses of levothyroxine, up to 150mcg but seem to have settled on 100 mcg. Three months ago I started on t3, prescribed by my endo. My blood results just before starting t3 were t4 12.6 ( 11-23 ), tsh 0.46 (

Making going Gluten Free easy
Not sure if this is allowed, so forgive me if it isn't. I have known for a long time that I would be better off with a gluten free diet, but I have a weakness; I can't resist the occasional fresh crusty loaf. I've tried quite a lot of the supermarket offerings but haven't been impressed. Recently, I

Follow up with GP after new blood tests on thyroid
Hi everyone, following the posting of my new blood test results last week. I have been to see GP. My TSH is 6.03 but she said my T3 and T4 are within range. I asked for a trial of Levo she said no because it would make me hyperthyroid. I really can't understand this. I also asked her if having a GLUTEN

gluten free hashimotos- experience?
Hi there, Ive been diagnosed with Hashimotos from 2012, and have been on a strict gluten free diet ever since. I am however beginning to question whether it truly is the be all and end all for people with hashimotos. Is there anyone out there that is not on a fully gluten free diet with Hashimotos?

I cured myself of ITP!
I was diagnosed with ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura) back in 1990 after not being able to shake the flu. My platelet count hung around 40 but my hematologist had no idea what to do about it except to put me on Prednisone or take my spleen out. The theory was that the spleen was destroying my

Taking the gluten free plunge
Heya, So I have hashimotos, I've been doing a lot of reading on it today and gluten free seems to be the first step to take. I'd love to hear how gluten free helped you? How did you go gluten free? Why do gps and endos not recognise the benefits of gluten free diet?

Need a Plan?
Hello, I am brand spanking new to the forum. I was just diagnosed with Hashimotos last week. I am trying to figure out my plan of attack. My dr said absolutely nothing. Said you have Hashimotos and take levothyroxine. I mentioned Natural desiccated thyroid and he said he does not prescribe that. So

T3 and low carb/gluten free diet results
Hello all, I have hashimotos which has probably been niggling for a few years but I was diagnosed a year ago. I had many of the symptoms but it was the weight gain and exhaustion that bothered me the most. With the help and advice of lovely members on this forum I am now on T3 and started a low carb
