I was diagnosed last year with gluten intolerance (Mmm...) although 4 other close members of my family are Coeliacs. My question is this : Although I have followed a strict gluten free diet for nearly 2 years , I have started to develop stomach cramps again every morning just after I get to work around

finding some help
Hi everyone I seldom write on this site as I have tended to use Action on Depression and the local fibro support group which are great. However I thought I would share with you how I am managing to reduce my fibro symptoms as well as generally feeling more positively. I have a long term emotionally

Joint pain and muscle ache in hips, knees and legs
Currently on 3 grains of Nature Throid, after being on Levo for 4 years and trying T3 but getting severe headaches. I'm feeling pretty well apart from hip pain, right knee pain and muscle and ligaments feeling tight, heavy and aching. I'm also on Vit D prescribed, B12 sublinqual tabs, Folate 5mg, selenium

Miaxial trial
Hi all. Am new on here. Have had fibromyalgia for about 20 years and have never taken anything for it except painkillers prescribed by doctor. Have had many X-rays, blood tests for cause of pain but have never been formally diagnosed. Recently after some online research I came across Miaxial, a powder

Does anyone else get allergic reactions from vitamin supplements?
I've had PMR for four years and am down to 4mg of Medrol with the odd flare now and then. I am getting rather fed up because I would like to take a multivitamin supplement but every one I've tried so far has given me an allergic reaction, a sensation of pins and needles and a hot tingling sensation.

Pelvic Fracture/Post Surgery- 3years later with possible reconstructive surgery in the furture
Hi almost 3 years ago oct 13, 2011 I was in a terrible horse riding accident where my pelvis was split in two and my bladder was torn. I was rushed to one hospital who deemed they did not have the personal to fix me so I was packed up and sent to another bigger hospital in the city. 5 hours later

Woohoo it's sciatica (I've not pulled a ligament /hurt knee)
Sounds mad that I'm happy it's sciatica but it means I can still run, in fact exercise is recommended ha ha , I never even clicked the pain in hip or muscle around ankle back of knee where linked just thought was my unfitness of using them first time in years , so my dodgy knee hasn't t let me down,

Dry, crinkly, ashy skin.
I hello I'm a 31 year old black male. When I was about 26 my skin started to feel very tight around my eyes, mouth area and scalp. I was trying different products on my hair as it was thinning and think I may have irritated it. Ever since my skin has been very very ashy and constantly dry. I have dry

Glucosamine -does it work? I know a lot of thyroid sufferers have joint pain/arthritis too.
This is not thyroid related ( I don't think!!!!) I have hashimotos (autoimmune), so maybe another symptom of Thyroid disease! I have recently had a lot of hip, knee and hand discomfort so took myself to the docs who sent me for an X-ray. It shows osteoarthritis. This is not autoimmune arthritis (rheumatoid

Does glucosamine supplements work?
Hi I'm new to this site and was wondering if anyone has first hand experience of glucosamine? I've recently be diagnosed with mild osteoarthritis and I'm considering taking supplements to help prevent further damage. If this is possible! My GP has suggested glucosamine as it is a natural/herbal remedy

Is glucosamine safe?
Iv`e been taking glucosamine sulphate for about a month to try & get rid of tendonitis in my wrists & shoulders, & I read yesterday that this type of supplement causes osteoporosis. Does anyone on this site know if this is true?

Pregnancy acne: possible solution (working for me)!
Unfortunately, I have not been blessed with the "pregnancy glow" :( My skin has absolutely gone to pot throughout my pregnancy - including eczema; extreme combination of dry t-zone & scalp; a mass of red blemishes, black-heads and huge sore white-heads that crop up on a daily basis. Gross, I know!

Mid life crisis? Who cares, I've Graduated ;-)
WOW - still panting...... I needed to get this post out. It's been 9 weeks, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it all. I wasn't obese, but was gradually getting less fit and putting weight on. I was also conscious that when I've tried running previously I've always injured my knee and stopped (or had I!).

Glucosamine sulphate tablets
When I was 2 wk into the programme I started with the dodgy knees during the doctor visit I mentioned I'd started on glucosamine tablets , he told me I didn't need them there just for arthritis . Well regardless I carried on taking them with the cod liver oil . I've run out of glucosamine & was wondering
