How do B12D/PA, weakened stomach lining/gastritis and gallbladder relate? (And: use PPIs or not?)
Hi all, First of all: thank you for existing! I'm quite new here, and it's a warm bath and a valuable resource - I recognize so much of your struggles, and find there are many knowledgable persons. I'm stuggling at the moment, though, and I'd really like some of your wisdom. I am still in the process

Dumb question?
Has anyone, or some one you know, turned down curative total gastrectomy when offered? I know it is the only hope of a cure.

Young mum with advanced gastric cancer, which was misdiagnosed for 7 months as I didn’t fit the profile of the average gastric cancer patient. Now going for PIPAC in Europe, which is aerosol chemo to the peritoneum with the objective of holding back peritoneal spread and potentially putting me back in

Hello all, Thanks to those who welcomed me after my first post here some time back; and thanks and best wishes to all of you who are posting - I find it helpful to learn something of other peoples' stories, and to try to untangle what some of the technical stuff means. It seems clear I am lucky in

Confused!
Hi, I've been reading and reading, searching and searching, but I still can't find the answers - well maybe there isn't an answer, but I'm going to ask anyway. About 2 months ago I got a really unpleasant bitter taste in my mouth that won't go away. I had a gastroscopy and was told to take tablets (2x

What sort of symptoms do you have?
Hi everyone, I'm at a juncture now where I'm totally out on a limb. I've spent the best part of the last 22 months trying to find out what the hell is happening to me, but have come up with precisely nothing. I've recently forked out £750 on a private, 3-area MRI that was completely normal. I was almost

Stomach cancer confirmed
Although I was expecting this result It is still a bitter pill to swallow. Now the medical team will discuss my options. I may get to know their opinions in 5 days day. The thing is - what option would or should I choose if offered? 1) Gastrectomy if the surgeon is willing to take the risk at my age

Confusing lower abdomen pain
Can anyone advise if they've experienced anything similar? I had mildish IBS mainly C from age 15-39. In my teens when it was particularly bad I used to get a constant tender / cramping pain low in my abdomen that would increase before a bm. Once in my 20s ibs symptoms were intermittent but not that

H. Pylori Retest
Since March 2018, when diagnosed with H. Pylori, I've had two upper gastroscopy. In both cases, I've been on a PPI. Two different consultants have said I don't need to stop the PPI as Biopsy is taken direct from the stomach. I've followed the Triple line therapy treatment priory to the gastroscopy for

What would you DO?
I posted about a month ago under the heading "Will I Ever Do It?" Well, I have managed to cut down drastically but not stopped. 5 days ago I had a gastroscopy done and the doc seemd to imply that I very likely have stomach cancer, though he did not confirm it. Tomorrow I have to go for a CT scan for

Newbie!
Hi all A gastroscopy has revealed a large ulcer at the upper part of my stomach. The doc did not mention the C word but he might as well have done so, as he kept repeating his concern and has arranged for further tests asap. The waiting is unnerving, say the least, and although I am not usually the person

Not the greatest day
I had to go for my 4th gastroscopy in less than a year today. My appointment was 1.15 and I didn't go in to theatre till after 4pm. I was starving and really thirsty by then. The staff as usual were all lovely but the sedation didn't seem to work properly. It was really sore and I was retching a lot

Cancer cells returned in juncture of joining, after total gastrectomy.
Had difficulty swallowing, yet again, so endoscopy requested. They took biopsies and sadly turns out cancerous cells have been found. CT scan thankfully did not find anything so PET scan was done today. Now got to wait 4-5 days for those results. I am wondering if the cancerous cells could have been

New to this community - CLL diagnosis Feb 2018
I was diagnosed with CLL in February 2018, following a period of feeling very tired, low Hb, shortness of breath and night sweats. After numerous blood tests, CT scan, gastroscopy and colonoscopy (to rule out any bleeding) I was given my diagnosis and told that I needed chemo treatment, due to symptoms

Temporary Stop to running...
Hi All, Unfortunately due to unexpected diagnosis of stomach cancer with 2 lymph nodes affected I’m having to stop running for a while. I’m absolutely gutted, terrified and shellshocked. I only began running on 1st April last year. In less than a year I’ve run 5K, 5miles, 10K and 10mile races and joined

Hyperthyroidism but have no appetite and feeling tired and cold.I’m new here.
Hi, I do not have my blood test results to hand yet, but I know that I have hyperthyroidism and I am slightly anaemic. I saw a consultant a few years ago who prescribed carbimazole. I became really unwell and literally poured with sweat permanently. The consultant took me off and left me with a go to
