Had difficulty swallowing, yet again, so endoscopy requested. They took biopsies and sadly turns out cancerous cells have been found. CT scan thankfully did not find anything so PET scan was done today. Now got to wait 4-5 days for those results. I am wondering if the cancerous cells could have been caused by the radiotherapy treatment, a question I will be asking my consultant and if that makes any difference.

Anyone else gone through this or know what I may expect.

Hi Zantri, Sorry to hear this. In answer to your question, yes, there is a risk that radiotherapy could cause cancerous cells to form. Did you get clear surgical margins when you had your op (histology results)?

I am 46, not sure about blood works. I will ask tomorrow see if anything has shown up. What would show up?
