Ongoing hell
Last week he was in dreadful pain, I called the doctor who arranged for him to have a
gastroscopy
, we went to the hospital on Tuesday, he couldn't be done as his blood pressure was so low it could have killed him.

Am now awaiting a
gastroscopy
with laser treatment to zap these bleeding points. Has anyone else had this? Consultant thinks my anaemia may be result of this bleeding.

Erosive gastritis and PA. Please advise re diet and medication!
Hi All, I have had PA for about 6 years and had a

when first diagnosed. Recent barium swallow showed moderate gastric reflux and recent
gastroscopy
showed mild erosive gastritis.

Stomach aches all day
I have had a
gastroscopy
, a scan and a stool test and everything has come back normal. This has lead to me being very depressed as I now feel there is no hope at all. Can anyone help on this? I just want to go back to the way I was 3 months ago.

Any other anti coagulant?
This caused a gastric ulcer and oesophagitis and, after a diagnostic
gastroscopy
, Apixaban was discontinued. After a few week's break, I was started on Warfarin which I have been taking for just over a month.

Sedation for gastroscopy
I have Barretts and had 3 gastroscopies in the past- the first was fine as the sedation knocked me out. The second was unpleasant and I noted that I had 5g of midazolam. For the last one I received 2.5g and I thought I was fighting for my life - choking, retching, panicking. Now it's time for my next

IBS Linked With Anxiety?
I've been through the whole testing process via the NHS (flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, MRI scans,
gastroscopy
, blood tests, stool samples etc) and everything has come back absolutely fine. The doctors have since diagnosed IBS.

Nervous & curious about endoscopy/gastroscopy
I'm really nervous about the whole procedure. I'm 20 and having my mum come with me as I think I'm going to have the sedation. Is there always an option to have this? I only knew about the sedation because I researched the procedure - there is nothing written on my hospital letters. I'm a bit worried

Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy
Hi, has anyone had a
Gastroscopy
and Colonoscopy procedure? My appointment is on Thursday and the information they sent gives me a choice of SEDATION so I am asleep for both procedures or have a throat spray for the
gastroscopy
and GAS and AIR for the colonoscopy.

Gastoscopy and Endoscopy update
The whole experience was terrible, I gagged all the way through the
gastroscopy
, he shouted, ‘no, no, don’t do that, just breath….’ I felt everything during the endoscopy and at one time he even leaned on me.

NHS gastro/endo complaint - is it worth it??
A follow-up and question about my
gastroscopy
/endoscopy experience earlier this month. I did complain in a detailed email to the NHS and followed the correct complaints procedure. After sending the email, I got a reply by email from the Patients Complaints Officer.

Countdown nearly over....
Since then I've had blood tests galore,
gastroscopy
, MRI. I'm type 2 diabetic so have been referred to a specialist because the medication isn't doing its job. Thyroxine all messed up but everything hangs on today. See the consultant today to find out more about what happens next. I can't wait!

1 month post Ivor lewis, retching & saliva build up.
He has had repeat CT scans and

Stomach problem causing havoc
My GP sent me for a
gastroscopy
. However between the referral and the procedure things started getting worse, I lost a lot of weight, could hardly eat, and taking medication was near impossible.

Stopped quivering
Been and had my
Gastroscopy
. Went with a fairly open mind. Was given sedation and to be honest I remember him saying meds going in - then - that's the tube coming out now! The staff were very supportive. Seems my 'bits' are in tact!

Has anyone had a gastroscopy/ endoscopy and had to stop anti-coagulation ( or not stop) and been given any info about stroke risk?
Be grateful if anyone would share their experience- endoscopy is likely to stimulate the vagus nerve so I am concerned about being off anti coag while having the procedure- but of course bleeding risk is there too. Any feedback welcome!!

Hello, I had a
gastroscopy
on the 27th June, they said my duodenum looked atrophied, and took biopsies. Does anyone know how long is usual to wait for results? I'm thinking on phoning the gastroenterologist, but don't want to be too impatient!! I am in Kent. Thanks for your help x
