Recommended diets for IBS-D?
The low
Fodmap
foods make me want to laugh! I wish I could eat them. I preferred a vegetarian diet before IBS; now I can rarely eat any vegetables. As for fruit - maybe a small piece of banana and a few dried fruits.

Question?
Since it has been recommended, I have been looking at the
FODMAP
foods - the low ones and then the high ones to avoid. I fell to thinking about my IBS and again it struck me how I am when I am on holiday (yes, I know - its a very distant memory!!) and, very occasionally, at other times.

Sweet Potato Chickpea Coconut Curry
I've been following a Low
Fodmap
diet for over a year now (I have successfully reintroduced some high
fodmap
foods) so to replace the garlic and onions I use Hing and I make my own Low

curry powder.

Manuka honey and IBS
So I looked up Manuka for IBS and the general consensus is that it can make IBS much worse, thanks to its very high fructose (too high in
FODMAP
). The MGO (methylglyoxyal) is also an irritant to the intestine. It can also cause headaches! I’m just so miserable about it and I feel really unwell.

Warming Red Lentil Sweet Potato Soup
Just a tip, I like cloves but if you don't leave them out as the taste is quite prominent. https://minimalistbaker.com/warming-red-lentil-sweet-potato-soup-instant-pot/ Also, I just threw everything in my slow cooker, used tinned lentils as dry are high

, and set it to high for around 3 to 4 hours

Understanding IBS
Fodmap
is the usual way to start, but it is not for everyone, as I found. For me it came down to water and a one egg omelette was mildly tolerable, and you do get tired of it as well. Eventually I was able to introduce small amounts of cheese or ham into the omelette and then another egg.

Vegan Roasted Chickpea Vegetable Bowl with Peanut Cream
I don't know how many times I've made this now but I absolutely love it, it has to be one of the best low
fodmap
vegan recipes I've made. The low
fodmap
way of eating is for those that suffer with IBS but of course anyone can eat low
fodmap
recipes.

Diet and food to feel a bit better with endometriosis?
I ordered three books - one on an endometriosis diet, an anti-inflammatory diet, and low
Fodmap
diet. And, immediately, I realised these are more or less exclusive food approaches. E.g. you're meant to do one of them, not pick the recipes that look good from each. Hmmm.

I feel better.
Anyway she advised me to go on line and look into a
fodmap
diet which I did. I was on the
fodmap
diet for 3 weeks and I have to say that the fatigue had improved and the abdominal pain had stopped. You cannot do this diet on a long term basis and it advises you to see a dietician.

Sertraline for IBS?
I’m awaiting SeHCAT results and about to start reintroduction stage of
FODMAP
diet.
FODMAP
has helped a bit but haven’t been ‘ok’, although have definitely discovered a few trigger foods. An incident at work has triggered anxiety issues and my normal coping strategies aren’t working.

IBS Diagnosis - Correct? Stress related?
I have done the
FODMAP
diet previously, as I had a bad stomach as a result of long-Covid for 3 months, but no food issues came up.

What’s causing this?
They are both low
fodmap
so I’m not sure if it’s related or just a coincidence but I never have them so could it be those making me gassy do you think?

IBS gone after avoiding milk but not when avoiding lactose?
I was told to try lactose free for 4-6 weeks but no joy, tried gluten free for 6 weeks but no joy, tried low
FODMAP
for 6 weeks but no joy. Always struggled to eat soy, beans etc for the past 10 or so years.
