Diet and food to feel a bit better with endometriosis?

Hi!

Are any other "foodies" doing cooking experiments to try to feel a bit better?

I'm on route to manage the endo as best I can with some pain meds, hormonal treatment, and upcoming MRI before potential follow up surgery. Right - that will hold the large topics for now.

So, I'm trying to learn about diet and supplements now to boost my overall wellbeing. I ordered three books - one on an endometriosis diet, an anti-inflammatory diet, and low Fodmap diet. And, immediately, I realised these are more or less exclusive food approaches. E.g. you're meant to do one of them, not pick the recipes that look good from each. Hmmm.

I love cookbooks, so I am baffled. Which one do I choose? But, I have a referral to a dietician coming up. But waiting is so very long... And we eat food every day! I want to do things now, not be patient. 😉

So... I'm trying little changes. I'm going to experiment switching from whole milk (UHT) to oat milk (I suspect/hope that might help with my phlegmy throat). And, I'm going to try starting eating a real breakfast (on my last A&E trip for endo, they treated me for low blood sugar in the ambulance).

Is anyone else experimenting with their diets in small ways to try to feel a bit better? I'm curious about the bright ideas others have had that helped them.

Hey I’ve started trying to improve my diet this year and the biggest difference I’ve noticed is from cutting out added sugar! I still eat fruit and honey but don’t eat any added sugar or sweet treats if I can help it! It’s a struggle but has honestly made a huge difference. The pain is still there but it’s more manageable for sure!

Hi La23,Thanks for the tip!

I think this is a good idea to try, and a pretty hard one too!

Not bring in the office, I'm no longer tempted by cakes, cookies, and doughnuts, but it's not easy to skip a little sweetness in hot drinks and the odd dessert. At least now that the Christmas sweets season has closed, it should be a little easier.

Look up anti inflammatory diet and what foods are recommended. I switched to oat milk, the barrister one is best for hot drinks 😁
