Worried about GP appointment and feeling trapped
Sorry everyone I've got to get this out. The fostair 200/6 has helped a bit and my twitchy lungs hurt a lot less but they still are flaring up from exposure to everything perfumes, deodorants washing powder the lot. I'm still taking the blue reliever inhaler 8-10 times a day, as the hospital drs said

Prednisolone diary - May
I've been on prednisolone for almost exactly a year now. In that time, I've developed severe daily episodes of sweating, tachycardia, nausea and shaking. Even more debilitating has been the profound fatigue. Neither my rheumatologist, respirologist, cardiologist nor GP have been able to offer any explanation

Rant: Does anyone else feel like giving up on meds etc.
So just saw my consultant today, and come away feeling so disheartened. "Yes you have real pathology, you must look after yourself, but not sure what else I can do ". I've been in orange peak flow for weeks and fully stepped up, but not taking oral steroids although now in the zone. Consultant "well

The thing that bothers me the most is I feel my asthma is worse but I have bad allergies and it's a bad season

Growing concerns but feeling ignored.
Hi everyone, I'm new here but I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. I've had asthma since I was about 15 (I'm 24 now) and it's been pretty well controlled up until a few months ago. It started with me getting breathless really easily - not being able to walk up a hill that had previously not caused

Confused by peak flow reading!
Morning all I just wondered if anyone can shed on light on this for me? I have been studying my peakflow in readiness for a visit to a consultant. What I have noticed is that my peakflow can be as high as 360 and yet I still need to use my blue inhaler 8 times. However over the past few days it has

Had a good few weeks but ...
Being on antibiotics and steroids for two weeks gave me a new lease of life. My peak flow was better, I was walking better and I had energy to do things I haven't managed for a couple of years. Unfortunately, since stopping the antibiotics and tapering off the steroids my chest is getting bad again and

Mild asthmatic here! My dr and I have been messing around with my meds for a while now. I'm currently on pulmicort 400 mg twice a day after increasing from 200 twice a day three months ago. After increasing the dose I didn't relally notice a decrease in symptoms, but my pef got way better... for one

Nebuliser for first time
I have just been seen by an ambulance crew and nebulised for the first time. It was scary because my reliever wasn't having any effect and I had difficulty speaking. Fortunately I felt a lot better after the nebuliser. Off to see a doc in a few hours. My peak flow has been declining over the past couple

What is more important? Peak flow readings or asthma symptoms, not severe ones.
I am baffled, and I hope someone out there could explain. Recently I had a run-in with an inscence stick. It really didn't agree with me, and the day after the encounter I woke up feeling I was getting a chest infection. I wasn't and very gradually the asthma sensations/symptoms wore off, over nearly

Peak Flow reading!
Does anyone know what our ideal (normal) peak flow reading should be. I've had mine done and was wondering if it's good or not so good. I usually ask but my Doctor was asking me other things and it side tracked me...thanks Andrea :) x
