Using Red Clover, Sage and Ashwagandha for the menopause, and it's safety with hypothyroidism?
Hiya. I am currently in the menopause with early onset osteoporosis, and have autoimmune related hypothyroidism. I am looking into various ways to manage this, conventional HRT being the least desirable. I much prefer natural ways to manage my health wherever possible, and I've found various herbal supplements

Statins
Hi, new member here, 60yo. Cholesterol 5.1 overall, CT scan showed potential CAD - echo and possible angioplast to be done in due course. I've been told in no uncertain terms I have to take statins. I'm not overly enamoured about that as there seems to be so many varying studies; some say they'll give

helvella - Thyroid Blog
You might or might not know that I have been accumulating information about thyroid issues in my blog - I have created a significant number of pages now. Many will be aware of some of the specific pages which I link to quite regularly. But you might not have realised what else is there. Below is a copy

Peak flow greater AM or PM?
I've seen lots of examples of 'peak flow diaries' or charts etc on line, and I've started one of my own, in an Excel spreadsheet. One thing I noticed was that all the example ones that use a morning and evening reading each day have a lower AM reading and a higher PM reading. Mine are very noticeably

Persistent cough and possible asthma diagnosis
Hello. I’m new here and keen to find out if other people with asthma have experienced the symptoms I have. I have had a persistent cough for about 4 months. Generally I feel a pressure in my chest and lower throat where it feels like a can’t breath. I then cough as this feels like it relieves the pressure

Chest feeling off
Recently was prescribed steroids for 7 days about 2 weeks ago. Last few days my chest just feels off like heavy and as if I’m hungry for air like wanting to gulp. Before the steroids peak flow had dropped to 60% of best and since finishing them it is 80% but a fews days yo-yoing to 70% of best. Wondering

Trelegy ellipta post inhalation cough anyone?
I have been on this med for one month. I was taking Fostair Nexthaler 100 mgs but post Covid in October I was struggling to recover my lung capacity. I find that for an hour or so after my once a day inhalation I have a tickly cough. I do rinse my mouth out and gargle afterwards.

peak flow after preventer
Hi, the Respiratory consultant has asked me, by letter, to record my PF after using my preventer (Luforbec). I’m wondering how long to wait after using it to repeat my PF? Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi everyone thanks so much for taking the time to get back to me on my last post . Hypersensitive Pneumonitis Due to Construction Dust
Hi everyone, I’ve just received a diagnosis after a crazy past 3 days. I have a new housing estate being built in the field adjacent to my house. The work has been ongoing for a couple of years but started at the furthest end. Last autumn as the work became viewable from our home I noticed I was suffering

Ummm…
Went to see the asthma nurse this week - I’m not getting on with Trimbow - and offered to show her my peak flow diary. ‘Why are you measuring your peak flow?’ she asked, with genuine curiosity. The asthma nurse 😳

Back Again
Hello everyone, sorry in advance for the mammoth post. I was last on this forum about 7-8 years ago in 2015/2016 after my previous symptom free asthma flared up badly and left me very sick (back on inhalers, steroids, and multiple hospital admissions). We managed to get my asthma back under control
