Different peak flow scores from different meters?
I have these two peak flow meters. The left blue one can show readings up to 50 l/min higher than the right, and claims my highest peak flow is 760! (The other says 720) Which is the more accurate meter? Can it be affected by anxiety? Also how low peak flow would be considered a worry for me?

This might sound silly but what is this device?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00OLZ14KU/ref=mp_s_a_1_8_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1481476794&sr=8-8&keywords=peak+flow+meter I was searching for a replacement peak flow meter when I came across this thing. It calls itself a spirometer device but is it really?

Distrupted sleep.
After my latest course of prenisolone started 17 days ago and finished day 6. My body has got into the habit of waking up at 3-4 am. Great for peak flow meter reading the lowest one but not great for me. I have tried herbal sleep tablets and use the same routine every night. Have woke up before then

Some good news... I think
So I went for an asthma check the other day, my peak flow was low but the nurse said that could be because I hadn't been for an asthma check as often as I should have. Anyway I told her how I felt that I don't need my inhalers all the time, and only take them when I need them, and the nurse took the

Peak flow question?
Do you get higher peak flow readings if you inhale through your mouth first? Likewise does nasal inhaling cause lower peak flow readings?

Extreme Health Anxiety?
I've been suffering from health related anxieties since I was 3 years old and it was around the time I lost 6 family members in a row to cancer. It first started when I heard about choking in pre school and I had a huge panic attack. Then it moved on to suffocation, drowning, and breaking my neck (I

Please listen to patients!
I need to vent! It's so frustrating knowing what you need but nobody listening to you. I understand you're a nurse practitioner and you've had how many patients walk in with asthma symptoms but I am not your usual asthma case. I have very severe, brittle, difficult asthma. I am on Step 4 therapy according

Still not right
I had pneumonia at the start of September which took 7 weeks or so, numerous antibiotics & prednisolone to get rid of. Had a chest infection in the august too. I had a repeat chest xray done the other week and when I rang for the results they said 'no action required, xray confirms asthma' I am trying

Post Prednisolone
Hi! On Friday I took the last dose of a 5 day course of steroid tablets (finish antibiotics today) for a recurring chest infection. By day 3 my peak flow was climbing up in the right direction and things certainly felt easier. Yesterday, the first day without them, I had a very wheezy, cough filled day

5 years diagnosed with late onset asthma and never had a check up till today!!
Hi everyone. I changed to a different Practice after 32 years because my GP retired and I had become unhappy with the running of the Practice. In the new Practice, the doctor asked me to book in with a Practice Nurse for an asthma check. I was diagnosed with late-onset asthma 5-6 years ago at the age

Advice needed - how can I regain control?
Hi - Hoping that some of you may be able give me some useful advice. Had a horrible cold/cough back in August which set off Asthma symptoms. I thought I had it under control with extra Ventolin and upped my Seretide 250 to 2 puffs twice a day. Things seemed to improve after 3 weeks of coughing and being

High peak flow, poor symptoms?
Sorry for so many posts, just very confused and so are my doctors. My peak flow seems to slightly actually improve when my 'asthma' symptoms kick in. What's going on? Such symptoms include: - Tight chest chest, jaw/throatand abdomen. - Throat filled with mucus. - Cannot breath too deeply or through
