Coughing forever?
I have had a chronic cough since early December. I had a really bad asthma flare up and flu at new year and I am still coughing. I’m coughing up white or yellow phlegm so I don’t think there is an infection anymore. No blood. Keeps me awake and is worse at night than during the day. I’m on cetirizine

Italian holiday- asthma flare up - can pharmacists sell me prednisone without prescription from doctor?
I don't know if anyone can help, but does anybody know if I can purchase prednisone over the counter without a prescription from a doctor? I believe I read something to that effect on a website somewhere. Just to explain: I knew my asthma was playing up just before I left home on Friday as my peak flow

CBD / Epidiolex.
I know there is interest here regarding CBD (& THC of course). I was very interested to read of the FDA approval recommendation for Epidiolex. "
Its active ingredient, cannabidiol, also called CBD, is one of the chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant, but it does not contain the properties

Peak flow & Oxygen
I have a peak flow of 600 & my oxygen is at 97%, I had a chest infection about 3 weeks ago, and I was at the nurse a week and a half ago, she said that air is moving around my lungs fine. Could someone tell me as to why I might still be feeling tight chested, I feel like I have a big belt that is just

Broken peak flow monitor?
I monitor my peak flow daily. Recently I’ve been getting some (for me) unusually good results, which I’ve put down to being on a high- dose steroid inhaler for the past month or so. My personal best has been increasing, from 465 to 490 and then 520 in the last couple of days. I’ve also gone from needing

A good example of NHS muddle
Ten days ago I was rushed into hospital under blues and twos, having developed a chest infection which exacerbated my asthma. The paramedics were brilliant - once they arrived - 25 minutes is a long time to wait when every breath is a mammoth effort. Anyway, nebulisation, hospitalisation and then a mountain

Tip(??) Avamys - Nasal Polyps & Asthma
It 'seems' to be the case that a change in the way I use Avamys is (a) helping to maintain my sense of smell / taste and (b) (Possibly) improving my Peak Flow. If you use Avamys you might want to try this for a few weeks to see what effect it has. It's simple. Take your usual dose of Avamys standing

Exercise induced asthma?
My 12 year old is breathless on minimal exercise - this has been deteriorating over the past year. Previously he was physically fit and energetic. He's being treated for asthma- on monteleukast (also has allergies - nuts/ grass/pollen), and is on a combined steroid/ long acting beta agonist. He doesn't

Cold/allergy/asthma?
Last week I started with what I thought was a cold, blocked up nose, chesty cough, but I wonder now as the blocked nose comes and goes. I do however now have a trickle down my throat which is pretty gross. Chesty cough is productive but doesn't look infected. Coinciding with that, I've been feeling

Introduction; New here, and to asthma... Kind of! Relieved in one sense and scared on the other.
Hi everyone, I'm here after quite a revelation over the past few weeks, which unfortunately, like so much in life is incredibly complicated. I was heavily abused from birth onwards in many forms, by different people so all of this gets confusing. I was literally told that I was attention seeking and

Copd at 35?
Hi, recently been having shortness of breath and tight chest problems that came in very suddenly. I smoked for 20 years, quit 2 years ago. Been running 25 miles a week since. Never felt breathless until suddenly 6 weeks ago, and hasn't gone away. Due for pft and spirometry next week. Could this be copd
