Trying to get fit...

Sooo I tried the second run on the couch 2 5K thing. W1-R2

I’m rubbish! I just can- not run at all. I get short of breath, my jaw hurts and I get a strange pain sort of deep inside my ears !!

I did one blast of jogging but had to stop, pathetic hey! Pha I’m determined to push past this and be able to do this thing.

I just did the whole 30 ish mins but instead of running I just walked as fast as I could.

I really do want to get fitter and help my lung capacity.

My peak flow is super low so when i get wheezy. I can go downhill pretty fast.

Goal -9st7lb

Lost - 1st3lb

Now - 10st2lb

Who else struggled with running? Any tips?

Thanks

I struggle with running and losing weight. Running outdoors I seem to always catch my breath and can’t get it back, I do better indoors on a treadmill but it is so boring.

I’ve been going to weekly yoga with an instructor who knows me and my asthma. It is going well and my body shape is tightening up. For me finding the right exercise for me has been the best way. (It still bothers me tho when my sisters are off doing half marathons tho and I can’t run to the end of my road )

Congrats on your weight loss . Brilliant xxx

Hi, I decided I needed to get fit 2years ago. I struggle running due to dodgy knees so I tried riding a bike. It has been good for the asthma, peak flow has gone up and triggers have less effect. It has taken a long time and perseverance but I feel much better and would recommend exercise to everyone. As a precaution I always take some ventolin before setting off.

Good luck and stick at it 👍
