Am I getting the right treatment?
Hi I have struggled with my breathing for about 10 years and didn't mention it to the doctor until 3 years ago. I was in denial and a smoker. I had a lung x ray and peak flow tests at my gp surgery. The GP told me I have stage 4 COPD and gave me spirva inhaler and a steroid inhaler. I also have a rescue

What it's like in Japan
Thought I would share what a visit is like with my doctor (also venting). This is kind of typical, especially when we are concerned about something or want a change/adjustment/whatever. If we just come in, check in, get out and get our meds, we have no real issue. I want to preface this by saying

Revlar Ellipta
Hi everyone! Just want to let you know I am now on my second Revlar inhaler and it is working brilliantly for me. I have had no side effects from it so far. I feel good. My peak flow has even improved a little which is just great. My walking has also improved and if I can gear myself to walk every day

Since I have been diagnosed with adult-onset, this is my first time traveling. What do you recommend bringing along (aside from my inhalers)
Nervous about my upcoming trip and want to make sure I am as prepared as possible! Are there any thing other than inhalers that one would recommend bringing on a trip? I was planning to bring my Peak Flow Meter as well. Any advice would be appreciated!

Asthma playing up and forgot to refill prescription (not emergency).
I've had a busy week this week, including an interview and an exam. I forgot to refill my Fostair prescription. It was after my Friday night dose that it dawned on me that I had 6 puffs left and I take four a day. I decided to split them down to one puff twice a day in hopes of stretching it. I was a

Just not fair :/
Asthma suddenly took a turn for the worst last night. Not sure *why* as I was doing so well. Nearest I can figure, our area is extremely dry and there has been a lot of wind around here lately. During Mom's visit (for a whole week!), we went to places near the ocean and/or with lots of green (both

Sudden onset of tight chest
Hi All, I've had asthma since birth and it's been manageable, the symptoms have also improved over the years (now 43yrs old) and I only needed to use my reliever every few days. A couple months ago my chest became tight almost overnight to the point where I need to use my reliever 4-8 times a day.

COPD query
Hello I am just wondering whether anyone could help me out. I have had asthma from a young age so my breathing has never been the best as it is. My nan had COPD and both my dad and grandad have Emphysema. My grandad is still alive and doing okay despite only having one and a half lungs. My dad passed

Can I take ventolin as needed despite using sirdupla?
Hi folks. I don't want to be a pain in the proverbial by posting here too often but I need advice. I had a bad asthma flare on holiday but thankfully I managed to get an emergency supply of steroids to take away with me as it started to play up before I left. The flare was caused I believe by hay fever

Reflecting......
As the warm weather has arrived, I expected to be happier than I am!!! It's those words, should be!!! I'm putting too much pressure on myself!!! I'm always being told to have more compassion for myself and to be proud of what I have achieved but I can tell myself these things until I'm blue in the face

Good news and bad news
Thought I’d post an update on here as I haven’t for a while and could do with a rant/unload! Sorry that this will be pretty long!! So I’ve finally had some good news in terms of my asthma - despite being told differently a few months ago it turns out that I do in fact just sneak in to the dosing criteria

6 Weeks After Treatment - Is This Asthma?
Hello everyone, when I first came here it was because they'd mentioned to me I may have asthma. 6 Weeks ago I was having nearly daily symptoms that lasted for hours. Tight chest, short of breath, easily exerted. I was placed on Salbutamol and Clenil 100 (2 puffs at the start and end of the day) What

Asthma flair with fast heart beat
I wonder if anyone has had similar symptoms? I am just recovering from a bad flair up of asthma which has been a problem for the last 5 weeks. After a drop in peak flow and increased asthma symptoms, I was put on a 7 day course of steroids which seemed to improve things. I struggled through the following

New To Asthma--Some Questions
Hi There, This is long, so apologies in advance. A few months ago I was diagnosed with adult on-set asthma after having this horrible case of bronchitis that lasted for about 2.5 months. It ended up being bacterial (but according to my specialist the initial antibiotics given were not strong enough
