Ablation - 6 month review......
He has taken me off the
Flecainide
(2 x 50 mg), but staying with the Diltiazem for the time being because my blood pressure is a bit high. As expected, no change to Apixaban. Naturally pleased with the outcome, but going to try and reduce the BP a bit so that I can dump the diltiazem too.

To Ablate or not to Ablate?
I have been taking 5mg Apixaban and 100mg
Flecainide
twice daily, 1.25mg Bisoprolol and 40mg Valsartan once a day. Last April I had a stroke, after which they put me on 40mg Atorvastatin.

Af and Drugs
I have had AF for 2 years now, on meds Metoporol 50 mg &
Flecainide
100 mgs daily along with a blood thinner I Have been in AF for the past 2 month now & not enjoying the side effects of the drugs feeling tired all the time, wondering if the diagnosis AF is not as bad as the drugs.

Just diagnosed with AF - Freaking out a little bit, Help?
This slowly declined over about 30-40 minutes to about 170, at which point I was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary to be cardioverted (using
Flecainide
- don't know if cardioverted is still the right term?), which took my down to about 90-100. Instantly I felt better but not 100%.

35 years AF and getting worse
Hospital has suggested a change to
Flecainide
or posible ablation A may be naive but this is the first time a doctor has even mentioned the posability of a stroke, especially to do with cold weather.

Flecainide or Verapamil?
He suggested
Flecainide
rather than the Verapamil I am currently taking. Possibly pill in pocket.

Playing the waiting game
I had been taking verapamil but he suggested
flecainide
. I said do I need it if I only have occasional episodes of PAF? He said to do a Kardia recording next time I have AF and send to him.

Atrial Fibrillation and T3
I have also been prescribed
Flecainide
100mg twice daily and take 80mg Propanolol. I still have palpitations although they have improved on medication from 40 times a day to 5. My question is, do you think a switch to NDT is worth a try?

How many people are still on medication (other than anticoagulant) after ablation?
I am happy that this ablation seems to have helped a lot but another of my hopes was to be free of the
flecainide
and bisoprolol which I take. Thanks for reading my huge essay and I look forward to hearing your views. Judie.

First post on this forum. A little bit of background
I’ve had a heart echo and have no apparent underlying heart condition and the treatment I’m on at present is a pill-in-pocket approach of 200mg
flecainide
at onset; this normally shortens the attack.

Blood thinners
I was recently put on Pradaxa along with
Flecainide
and Altenolol instead of taking as a pill in a pocket as I have had 6 episodes of A fib over the past 2 years with the episodes coming closer in time.In all cases, I have been completely aware of my episodes.

Unpredictable recovery after Ablation
Most of the episodes lasted about one hour and reverted with
flecainide
. A couple lasted three hours. Now I've had no PAF since 17 November. So the path is unpredictable. It has taken 9 months post ablation to get to 7+ week PAF free duration.

New to all this! Meds/supplements advice much appreciated
(Btw I can't go on
flecainide
because they've picked up some 'lower chamber arrhythmia' prior to the AF, whatever that means!) Also, I've got a question about taking fish oils and other heart-friendly vitamins & minerals...

Scared to take Flecainide
Have been given
Flecainide
as pill in pocket but am so worried about taking it in case it drops my heart rate too low. My family can't understand my fear and think I'm silly not to take it when required. Opinions please!

I stuck with the added dose of
Flecainide
for the 2 weeks even though It made me feel dreadful, breathless, dizzy and "funny" turns I felt like a zombie.Had the ECG and then rang Arrythmia nurse and she advised to go back to original dose of
Flecainide
and.wait for results of ECG and then try digoxin.

Beta blockers for Glaucoma
I have been treated for glaucoma over the time and find that I have a problem with most of the drops setting off my heart, needing me to use my pill in the pocket (
Flecainide
). The pressure in one eye is going up and the only drops not tried are the betablockers.

Report of today's consultation with my EP Cardiologist - I can have one more ablation
I have been taking Bisoprolol for about 20 years combined with
Flecainide
. Apparently the 25 years of AF I have suffered has resulted in heavy scarring of my heart.
