Flecainide

He had discovered that I had a firm diagnosis with ecg reading, of PSVT and PAF over 15 years ago but was pretty much left too it after being started on flecainide. He had really worked hard trying to pull together as much information about me as possible.

The only thing that does somewhat control it is the following concoction of drugs - 5 mg Bisoprolol x1, plus 50 mg Flecainide x 2 per day, although this makes me feel tired and also induces the occasional fluttering in my chest. I currently don't take any medication, but this is driving me insane.

I am also on 50mg Flecainide and 1.25 Bisoprolol. T4 alone did not work for me and I had debilitating syptoms. I am left with a blown up head, worse in mornings. I do get energy swings but I am guessing that is the condition we live with!

A mess up at the hospital has meant I have only just seen a cardiologist who has now prescribed Flecainide. 2 weeks on and I quite honestly can’t say I feel any better. I am still only ok when sitting doing not much at all. I am on 8mg pred plus still beta blockers etc.

Since then I have been on Sotalol which was replaced by Bisopralol and Flecainide. I have been experiencing periods of ectopic beats since the change. I don’t tolerate beta blockers very well. Two days ago I started a head cold and my temperature has been raised 38.8 c.

Laid horizontal for 2 hours then at an angle for 2 hours during which time Dr Lang told me that I had not got flutter, the flutter I had in December was a result of taking the Flecainide he had prescribed back in August, he did some ablating but there was still many sites that he could not ablate and

I was taken ILL late last year had heart block now got a pasemaker fitted and on 2 tables 1 is flecainide but have found out I have a bad heart valve as well have to have a operation in up to 5 years time have to lose weight for it have diabetes high blood pressure depression take tablets for it all

My only other meds are daily Xarelto (20 mgs) and I have flecainide/metoprolol available as PIP that I'm supposed to take if an Afib episode lasts over 30 minutes, which has only happened once in the past few months. That time, it did handle the Afib within a couple of hours.

I take 50 mg Flecainide 3 times/day and 6mg warfarin. Will see EP in a couple of days to schedule ablation. Any insights or advice regarding this erratic beats would be greatly appreciated.

My major drugs have been Flecainide and Bisoprolol (rate). Each year I have had periods of AF, but these have been exceeded by longer periods of SR. Bisoprolol at 5mg has always slowed me down , and around two years ago I initiated a review with my GP to reduce it.

Converted with IV Flecainide after 19 hours and sent home with a diagnosis and prescription. Had an annual appointment to see a cardiologist who repeatedly said your heart is fine, you don’t have atrial fibrillation the ecg is clear.

Also in combination with Flecainide to reduce proarrhythmic effect. I'm not sure vagal AF (slow, asymptomatic, nocturnal after exercise or a meal) is considered often enough, and here beta blockers may be unhelpful.

I think that Flecainide is now making episodes longer... Well, today I decided to call the office of Dr. Drew Sinatra. He's a naturopath and acupuncturist, and the son of Dr. Stephen Sinatra, the cardio who wrote the Metabolic Cardiology book I shared about in another post.

Nothing like my normal fast AF episodes Cardio thinks it was caused by the Flecainide which I have recently started taking as pip. To cut a long story short, I need to elect where to go for an ablation. I am in Cornwall but happy to go anywhere?

I took my Pip for the first time today. 200mil of flecainide - it worked - Yea!! So relieved as I was worried about passing out or feeling dizzy, but all was well. The dreaded AF was over in 55 mins. No need for me to worry about taking it in the future now.

He said that flecainide and digoxin might be better for palpitations and ectopics than sotalol and I have a prescription for these which I will try in a few weeks when I am on holiday. Does anyone have any experience to relate after changing from Sotalol to flecainide?

I don't tolerate taking Flecainide regularly, but use it Pill-in-the-Pocket, and wanted to see if taking them might reduce the frequency of episodes or just help me feel better. I've been experimenting with dosage and timing since the end of December. CoQ10 provides energy and Taurine is calming.

hello, I have been taking Flecainide 50mg twice daily for around 2 months now. I did notice that im seeing some floaters, but I dont know if that is necessarily related to the flecainide side effects or just a normal occurence. Did anyone experience such a side effect?

Shortly afterwards I noticed I had been dispensed Flecainide from a different supplier- Milpharm. Since then I have struggled with more frequent but less intense AF episodes plus frequent ectopics.

The treatment plan was to be another cardioversion, this time supplemented with flecainide, followed by a referral to Sheffield for an ablation. I was more than happy with this. In January 2017, I met the EP who suggested that I was a suitable candidate for a medical trial.
