Linaclotide - a potential saviour for IBS-C sufferers?
I'm a male who is 45 and have suffered with IBS-C with severe, constant bloating for more years than I can now remember. It had become so bad in the last two years that I could count the good days in a month on one hand. My Gastro finally prescribed Linaclotide 290mg per day. I'd never heard of it beforehand

Got a colonoscopy on Friday as mentioned in another post and the dreaded prep is tomorrow. I’ve had many of these procedures before (had bowel cancer) but always had picolax. This time I’ve been given moviprep for the so called preparation. On reading the side effects it mentions arrhythmias can occur

Still screaming into and now punching my pillow 😠
Oh I was so looking forward to my rheumy appointment but to get a phone call from appointments office 36 hours prior cancelling. I rang my rheumy secretary on said day if appointment and got told she did not know why it had been cancelled. Now that made my already fuelled temper sky rocket out if all

A Christmas message to our saviours
Christmas is fast approaching and it has been a year of reflection and rehabilitation. I spent the whole of last December in a coma following my TBI, Christmas came and went as did New Year. Finally discharged home last day of May. Through the last year I have seen many nurses, specialists, therapists

Is it possible to break bad habits after brain injury?
First off I tried to post this question earlier but the link my answer was broken. We are what we repeatedly do hence excellence is a habit said Aristotle. Habits shape our lives, you are who you are because of habits, they are consistent unconscious vital patterns in our lives. For those who sustained

Starting Buserelin on day 18
Hi Everyone, This is my first cycle of IVF and feeling a mixture of emotions (pure joy as been waiting a long time to start (3 years), nervousness, excitement and everything in between!) I called up the clinic on Tuesday 10th as it was my first day of my cycle and basically we couldn’t get booked

Is this recovery?
I'm a little confused as to how I'm doing. I took two tablets of Flucloaxillin in May and got very very unwell and haven't been the same since. Im a touring musician who's had gigs a few times a month thus taking around one dose of imodium once per week since October. I've found the effects to last up

Not sure if I had a heart attack
I had my 3rd ablation in March 2018 and all has been well for about 1.5 years. In October flutter/afib came back with a vengeance. Extreme anxiety, atrial beat up to 300 maybe 50% of the time, fatigue. Then mid-October, in the middle of the night feeling generally awful and unable to sleep, Had no pain

Week 6; a ‘down’ which was a learning experience and then a massive up! SEE and be SEEN, people!
Well, week 6; what a week! Did the first run, which I found fairly hard, but persevered. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment as I was walking back home along a track in the park after I had finished run 2. It was Thursday evening and the park was even darker than normal as the roadworks opposite meant

First post- start of our journey
Hi everyone, Myself and my OH are at the beginning of our fertility journey, after trying to conceive for 18 months, and being referred to a fertility centre. We have recently had our sperm analysis results back and they're not good. I haven't yet been tested for anything other than hormone levels

Still suffering
It’s been six months now since I left hospital with VM, I’m still suffering fatigue aches and pains, eye issues and light intolerances. I’ve been discussing with work to start a phased return as I’m stressing myself to give it a go, I don’t know what will happen but feel I need to try. No medical person

Advice about 4 year old
My 4 year old is still no where near clean and is still in daytime nappies or pullups (depends on the circumstances). We made this decision as she has no concept of when she needs a poo and having accidents she found very traumatic and was having a big impact on her both emotionally and socially. Most
