A Christmas message to our saviours

Christmas is fast approaching and it has been a year of reflection and rehabilitation. I spent the whole of last December in a coma following my TBI, Christmas came and went as did New Year. Finally discharged home last day of May. Through the last year I have seen many nurses, specialists, therapists etc, the list is endless. One person has stood by my side for the whole journey, cared for me, comforted me and fought for me. Our carers that stand by our side are often overlooked, as confused as we are by our out of character remarks or actions. For those that care for their loved ones, you are special people, my injuries and trauma not only affected me but also emotionally affected those closest to me, as it does with most family units. I have made it through the year, my husband is an amazing man and carer, I owe him so much gratitude I cannot express it in words. For the rest of the carers on this forum you are amazing people, the light shines brightly on you all although at times you may not feel that it does. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year
