Allele Burden -- Polycythemia Vera
Can someone please explain what is the Allele Burden ? Should I be having a regular measurement, by means of a blood test ,to monitor the progress of the disease? What would be the normal range? I was diagnosed with PV in May 2024 had two venesections then a platelet crash ( down to 7) after 10 days

types of T3
Hi all I currently take Roma T3 capsules my prescription is due for renewal and I’m interested to know what other types of T3 are available and what people’s experience is with them. I’m not 100% sure the Roma capsules agree with me, it is also hard to split doses before blood tests. As always, very

Took progesterone 10 hours late on day 10 post FET transfer - freaking out!
It’s day 10 after my frozen embryo transfer and I have a positive pregnancy test! This is incredible news - I am absolutely over the moon. But I’m now also completely freaking out as messed up todays progesterone injection and took it 10 hours late. Am I going to miscarry? I’m crippled with worry.

Diabetes and Prednisolone
Hi, just enquiring about the use of Prednisolone and its affect on diabeties. I have been a type 2 diabetic since 2016. For the first four years I managed to control it by diet only but since I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2020 my diabetes has got worse year on year. I was initially put on Metformin

Diet and B vitamins
Hello, I take a daily supplement dose of plant based vitamin B12 Complex and try to eat a range of foods that are healthy. I drink alcohol - maybe 5 units four/five times a week and I read that maybe I should take additional B vitamins to cover myself against there being insufficient to counteract this

New blood test results after 2 months on Levo
Hi, I posted a while back before I first saw a private GP and was put on 50mg of levothyroxine. Weeks 1-3 or there abouts I felt that things were going well. I felt rested after a nights sleep for the first time in years, increased mental acuity, diminished itching of the skin, decreased thirst,

Statins and prednisolone
I have been on prednisolone for nearly two years, starting on 15 mg, now down to 6mg. Previously tapering at 0.5 mg every 6 weeks, more recently tapering at 0.5 mg at 8 week intervals. Now wondering whether to extend that interval further, after having had a bad flare. Following a recent diagnosis

Change in tablets Thyroxine 100mg
Hi.I have been taking Thyroxine 100mg for years fairly successfully. When I picked up my last prescription, the box was still coloured orange & looked the same but wider. The tablets composition had changed - were larger & harder to digest. Since I have been taking this batch I have had terrible hot

Iron problem?
Hi,I have a low iron saturation - latest blood tests show range = just out (low side). Apologies I haven't got details atm. Although I do supplement with iron it's obviously not enough? I'm not too sure regarding Folate and Ferritin? What exactly do I purchase? Love to you all

Overmedication question
Hi all, I have been feeling really weird over the past couple of weeks and I wonder if I'm overmedicated. I take 100mcg levo daily following hemithyroidectomy in Dec. I had been feeling much better since starting the tablets in March. But over the past few weeks I've had hot sweats, very easy to lose

Background I was diagnosed with PMR in June 2024. Fortunate in having very supportive GP who quickly started me on 15 mg Predisolone which brought about dramatic improvement. Dose has been reduced to 14 mg after 1 month. GP plan is to reduce by about 1mg a month, depending on monthly blood test results

Help to updose T3
Hi Lovely people, I haven't been on for a while after one issue after another. I am on Liothyronine 20mcg 3 times a day. I have found my T3 dropping although still in range as my endo says so not concerned. I only started putting weight on just before being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. That was

hi Having issues with palpitations and feeling rough. Think it’s time I asked for a referral to the Endocrinologist. Been on thyroxine for a number of years, docs said too much Levothyroxine so needed to reduce from 150mg to 125 mg. Due to weight loss. Since I’ve started with the palpitations,

Hyperthyroidism blood results.
Morning all, I posted here several weeks ago as I had been taken off Levothyroxine after high t4 results. I have half a thyroid as had a benign growth. I paid for a blood test and after a couple of issues with the finger prick tests, I got a nurse friend to take my bloods. I got the results this morning
