It’s day 10 after my frozen embryo transfer and I have a positive pregnancy test! This is incredible news - I am absolutely over the moon. But I’m now also completely freaking out as messed up todays progesterone injection and took it 10 hours late.
Am I going to miscarry? I’m crippled with worry. Has anyone else experienced this? Please let me know, thanks so much.

Congratulations! Re progesterone, are you also on another form, like pessaries? Even if you're not, my consultant said progesterone fluctuates massively naturally and women get pregnant naturally with much lower levels that we try to achieve in IVF. Also I had low progesterone on my first FET and they said up the lubion doses but then the medicines delivery company messed up and because I'd started in the extra dose I ran out. I think it was at least 24 hours of no injections at all and probably 3 or 4 days of not being on the double dose. My consultant was not remotely concerned - he said it doesn't work like that, and it's about having a good amount and good levels on average over a few days. I was absolutely freaking out but he was right as that transfer was successful.
Thanks so much for this! I’m sick with worry today, and it’s my first day back at work post transfer. I guess worrying might make things worse so I’m going to try not to (so much easier said than done!). Your reply has really helped me. I wonder how common this is. I’d love to hear from anyone else with similar stories (hopefully that end well!).
Can I ask, when in your FET process did this happen? Were you already in the early stages of pregnancy like me? To answer your question, no I’m not on pessaries or any other form of progesterone - only injections, and because of the FET my ovaries are shut down so I can’t make any myself until after week 7.
I was only told about the low progesterone 3dp FET (my clinic forgot to tell me...) then took the double dose, then probably missed the day plus a bit around 4-6dpt. I know in theory you're not making progesterone on a medicated FET, but I've found my levels have only gone up with BFPs and done very little on my BFN no matter how much I took. So I think as soon as the embryo implants and starts to produce HCG, it makes the body start producing progesterone, or at least it does something to make the synthetic stuff stick around. Plus if you only missed a dose at 10dpt, presumably you had 10-15 days of progesterone injections which is loads and it will have built up in your body. I think it can take a bit of time for the levels to drop and I really doubt 10 hours would be enough to make a difference.
I wouldn't have thought it would make a huge difference at this stage - you already have a big store of it in your body and it takes a while for levels to drop.
I'm sure your clinic will tell you it will be fine.
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 I wouldn't worry at all; hormones are different to medication, my understanding is that you are building them up, so after a good 10 days of injections you have enough in your system so that 10h won't make a difference. Plus your body would now be producing it too I wouldn't worry at all to be honest; enjoy the great news ❤️
Thank you everyone. My clinic also just confirmed the same so hopefully all good. I have my beta blood test tomorrow to officially confirm the pregnancy 🤞🤞🤞 Will share an update xxx
