Has anyone felt worse when first adding T3?
Hello All, I've recently added 5mcg T3. 6 weeks later I felt awful (exhausted, brain fog) and blood test confirmed my T4 had lowered so I increased my levo from 137.5 to 150 and kept the T3 at 5mcg. At the same time, I increased my estrogen, which I now know was a mistake to do at same time because

any clues?
I posted recently about starting Thybon. I’m back with another post , feeling very despondent. My t3 was 2.6 (3.1-6.8) while t4 was about 17. (12-22) It was suggested I start slow and add 5 initially to the 112 eltroxin dose and increase when tolerated to 10. I began and although my energy lifted

General questions about starting NDT
Hello lovely people, I'm back again with more questions... Just waiting on my NDT prescription to be filled by the pharmacy. It will be CAPSULES with powder inside (not tablets). It's 50mg, once a day. I've never had any thyroid treatment previously, so this is my first time trying any thyroid hormones

Cardiac surgery
Has anyone on long term thyroid meds had open-heart cardiac repair surgery? Any ideas as to whether it affects thyroid and any need to up/ lower T4/T3 meds? Any reflections/suggestions would be most welcome.

Spotting, bloating and weight gain
I've just had bloods and swab done at the gp for above symptoms today and the spotting has turned into medium flow period type blood after being swabbed. I had a week of spotting between red and clear to pink brown discharge but I'm finding it painful around pelvic and vagina area when going to the toilet

Blood test units different
For years my thyroid blood test results have used the same units so, Free T4 pmol/L range 12 - 22 Free T3 pmol/L range 3.1 - 6.8 I have just received results with different units, so they won't fit into my spreadsheet. Free T4 ng/dL range 0.93 - 1.71 Free

Methadone + Pregabalin + Trazodone - So far so good
Hi everyone, just wanted to share a good story. Sorry for the telegraphic style, I'm just saving everyone's time. I'm 33, living in Canada. I guess I've had RLS my whole life, but it started affecting my sleep about 10 years ago. I'm very active (cycling everyday, rock climbing & calisthenics). No other

Why should ft4 be at a certain percentage through reference range (mid to upper) when on T4/T3 combination therapy when T4 is inactive?
As per the subject title, if ft4 is inactive, then why do some people on T4/T3 therapy only feel good if their ft4 level is at the mid/upper level despite the fact their ft3 (active form) may be at a optimal level? Or if they are not feeling well, why are they advised to increase their Levo dosage if

Recommended Tracking App - Easy to use, tracks what I need to monitor for CKD
After searching for a long time and almost giving up, I finally found an app that does everything that I need. Yeah! It tracks my diet and helps me monitor my intake of Sodium, Potassium, Phosphate, Protein and Water, which is important for patients with CKD . At the same time it tracks calories

Allergic Reaction to Sinemet?
I posted previously that after being on Pramipexole for over 30 years, I, at the direction of my PCP, completed about 2 weeks ago a transition over an 8 week period from P to Sinemet (100 carbidopa-200 levodopa). The transition went smoothly and I am now on two tablets, one taken at 3 pm and a second

Question re Private Only Endo
If you see a Consultant privately that doesn’t do NHS work is he able to recommend medication for me to my Gp? I do currently get T4 & T3 but need to see another Endo but he only does private work.

HRT after Thyroid Cancer
Hi everyone this is my first post. I had papillary thyroid cancer 12 years ago when I was 26. Radical neck dissection full thyroidectomy dozen lymph nodes removed. I've been on a rollercoaster with thyroxine for all that time struggling to feel well. Just got a new diagnosis of significant endometriosis

Found out pregnant while on buserelin
I started buserelin 0.5 ml Jan 21, Jan 25 I got my first faint line on a pregnancy test which was a miracle as I’ve been infertile for 4 years I’m 29 years old. I messaged my clinic they said continue until beta test. I’m stopping the meds now (Jan 29) but so so scared this will affect me, my dr said

Starting Gabapentin
Thanks to great advice on here last year, I took a course of ferrous sulfate and my ferritin levels went from 52 to 105. Unfortunately this didn’t help my RLS and my GP doesn’t do a full iron panel and so couldn’t get the other relevant results. I have now opted for Gabapentin but my GP had advised

Help with NAFLD good foods
Hi Everyone, new to this forum. I would like to see a dietician but suspect I would be turned down on the NHS. Do people eat certain foods that they know are good for the liver? I have diabetes too and struggle to keep everything on an even keel. I don't eat alot of meat, more fish and veg. If I eat

T4/T3 Combi Overmedicated Help Please
I posted yesterday about my recent feelings of overmedication but didnt get many replies. Its just symptoms, not blood tests, but had palpitations, fatigue, fast heart beat, shortness of breath. Was on 150mcg Levo and 12.5 T3 daily. Also added daily selenium which might have complicated things. Cut
