new to methotrexate: will my MTX fatigue fade or continue?
I'm just a beginner here, having received an RA diagnosis in December on the basis of blood tests (I have no joint pain or problems, but my blood markers agree with the RA diagnosis; elevated RA and anti-CCP). I also have three other diagnoses: PSA (psoriatic arthritis), PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica),

First Rheumatology Appointment
I had my first rheumatology appointment today and I think it well unless any of you think otherwise as I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was diagnosed with PMR by GP at the end of June 2023 and successfully tapered from 15mg of Prednisolone to 10mg by the end of August however after three failed attempts

Eptopic?
I have a repeat blood test tomorrow after my HCG last week was just 9, I had a sore stomach through the week and Ive had a consistently dull pain in my right side tonight and so paranoid it's eptopic (originally thought chemical) has anyone had experience of this and had similar symptoms? I will obviously

Concern over liver function test
I was taken to hospital in mid-October with heart MI and had an angiogram two days later. This showed no problems with the arteries. I was discharged with statins and other medication pending an MRI. I'm still waiting for the MRI and my consultant appointment is not until mid-April. I have just had the

Fatty Liver -Pain
Hi, I have had NAFLD for several years but have just started to get pain with it. I think it may have moved to NASH and possibly fibrosis or cirrhosis (nothing has confirmed that officially yet). I had a blood test and the doctor said that the liver function number was raised more so than usual. It

is this possible?
My son died at the age of 36 in the USA in September 2023. He had been alcohol dependent but had finally managed to stop drinking a month before, and his liver results were steadily improving . He woke up one Sunday bright yellow but feeling fine and it took his wife 48 hours to persuade him to go to

Over range copper and zinc
The only culprit I can think of is milk thistle. Any thoughts on over range copper and zinc? About a 10 months ago, zinc was low-ish and copper slightly over so I supplemented zinc for a short while but stopped a couple of months ago. Then the week before last started with milk thistle for liver support

Prescribed levothyroxine at last!
After a long struggle, you know how it goes... I have finally been offered a trial of levothyroxine by a GP. My Medichecks results in 2020 were ignored by my GP (serum TSH 6 range 0.7-4.2) plus presence of large amount of antibodies. NHS ones kept coming back 'normal'. A different GP agreed to

Timings for at home blood test
Hi, I’ve got the blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold blood test and plan to do it in the morning, as per the advice before taking any thyroid medication. I was going to do it on waking at around 6:30 am, but noticed on the instructions it said to take the sample between 8 am and 10 am. Does it need to

Sleeping 24/7
Hi, it's been awhile since I posted. I don't think my antidepressants are working anymore. I have been on them for years. I'm sleeping all day and all night. I wake yo go to the bathroom and get fresh water, that's it. I've had blood tests this last week so it's not anemia again. I have just no go in

Nurse phone call update
I put the results of my thyroid and cholesterol blood test result on here the other day and today I heard back from the nurse who said my Thyroid was fine “within the range” the usual thing. but my cholesterol was very high at 8 which I knew. So, as always, just concentrating on my cholesterol levels

Reintroducing gluten for coeliac test?
Hello everyone, After going gluten free in mid-November 2023 I have today had a blood test request come in which involves a coeliac test. I was tested for coeliac in 2017 too (negative) but didn't know I was being tested for it and had been eating strictly low carb for about 2 years at that point

Hello I messaged on here recently about my symptoms and was recommended to take a private blood test, which I've done. So I'm surprised that they've all come back normal! I screenshot them but not all together. Think I need to now think it is actually not my thyroid, but rheumatoid after all!

Will a COVID (or flu) vaccination affect my blood results?
If I have a blood test 3 or 7 days after a COVID (or flu) vaccination - will it affect my blood results? Should I perhaps make the vaccination after the blood test, so that there is no potential issue interpreting my blood results? If the vaccination affects blood results - how many days after the vaccination

Hashimoto advice please
hello, I have had an underactive thyroid and been on Levothyroxine 75mg since 2015. Last November I had a private blood test done as I had been struggling with lots of ‘symptoms’ and wondered if my thyroid could be the cause and it showed I have Hashimoto’s disease which I understand is an autoimmune
