Slowly I am Recovering!
My cholesterol is fine but triglycerides are high so have started with
Fenofibrate
from today. After stopping plavix will use fish oil also in a day or so. From 12-14 tablets perday to only 2-3 in 4 months.

HU research demostrates efficacy of an existing drug in treating COVID-19.
Initial clinical data shows promising results, supporting early evidence of
fenofibrate
ability to prevent lung damage in Corona patients and reduce COVID-19 severity and mortality even as newly emerging vaccines reduce transmission.

Possibility of a link...PBC, Anemia, Adenocarcinoma
When I last checked in I was on a new course of
Fenofibrate
along with Ursadiol. The
Fenofibrate
continued to keep my numbers in a good range with no apparent side effects. I wanted to let you know about another serious health issue I am dealing with. I was diagnosed with PBC in 2012.

Anyone ever taken Atarax? Side effects? Results?
Also I convinced the doctor to put her on a lower dose of
fenofibrate
rather than the 145mg she was taking which caused her stomach pain so I'm having high hopes for that.

FENOFIBRATE
I was hoping that this post would be the one where I get to celebrate how well the
Fenofibrate
was working out for me. Took it for about 7 weeks.

Has anyone added
Fenofibrate
to Urso regimen? If so, any side effects? Are you feeling better?

New to Group
I’m currently on Urso and
Fenofibrate
. My ALP and all my other numbers are now in the normal range except ALT, and just found out I have NASH as well. I started a vegan diet 6 months ago and went in for blood work yesterday. Fingers crossed!

Dreaded Itch!
I have taken Cholestryamine light, Gabapentin, Sertraline, Rifampicin,
Fenofibrate
and Naltrexone for my unbearable itching, with no relief. I recently have taken part and finished a trial at QEH Birmingham for pruritus, called Glimmer by GSK.

Started Tricor
I participated in a trial for Elafibranor, a
fenofibrate
, which is being tested for non-responders to URSO. My numbers stayed the same, but I believe that I was on the placebo. I have been placed on Tricor. Fingers crossed that my numbers improve.

Statins v Fibrates
Went for a test and my cholesterol was 5.5 and my GP wanted it lower so changed me to
Fenofibrate
. Upshot was the old backache and joint pain and I felt I was losing confidence and anxious once again. I returned to Bezalip Mono but symptoms remained so I stopped altogether with GP's approval.

itchy help. PBC diagnose questions- where do we go now
As of today my doctors would like me to start
fenofibrate
, a medicine normally used to treat high cholesterol but that has also been shown to help with itching in PBC patients. While I am extremely hopeful this will work, I am also nervous it wont and unsure of what that means going forward.

Fenofibrate and kidney:Increase in serum creatinine
Fenofibrate
has been used for the management of atherogenic dyslipidaemia for many years. Reports of
fenofibrate
-associated increases in serum creatinine (SCr) levels raised concerns regarding deleterious effects on renal function.
Fenofibrate
may not be a nephrotoxic drug.
