Transferring treatment to another country
I've been told today that I need to start
FCR
treatment soon for my CLL. This will be my first treatment having been diagnosed in Nov 2011. Trouble is, my wife and I are planning to move back to her home country of Denmark in April.

Out of remission?
I was Dx with CLL in 2012. 4 rounds of
FCR
in 2013. In remission for almost three years. But for the last year my blood numbers have been trending up. White count now 8.2, ACL 3. If they rise like they did in the last three months I will be out of normal range.

Is ibrutinib enough?
Took 6 months of
FCR
ending in July 2013 with a CR. I relapsed with a very aggressive vengeance in December 2014. This time it returned with 17p deletion, ZAP-70 & CD38 positive with complex karyotype, about every bad prognosticator you can get.

Any way to shrink lymph nodes without full treatment?
At 47, I don't really want to use up one of my 'treatment bullets' so early on (although a part of me want's the treatment just to get a few years remission and get on with life - maybe with the hope that I'm one of the lucky few for which
FCR
provides a cure).

FCR follow up is CT necessary?
Hi, we are coming up on two years since my husband finished a 6 month treatment with
fcr
. We had been told he had a "complete response with incomplete recovery of the bone marrow." His blood counts improve some then dwindle some; currently neutropenic again barely above 500.

I have seen my hematology consultant and will be starting on
FCR
treatment for 5/6 months starting on the 4th Febuary. My consultant has talked me through the treatment and explained why this is suitable for me.

Husband with p53 deletion
He was supposed to start
FCR
in February but the Dr told us this has "thrown a spanner in the works" and is possibly thinking Ibrutinib along with
FCR
.

recently diagnosed with CLL
I started
FCR
last week and will have 3 days of that every 28 days. My platelet count this week was 218,000, so no Nplate shot this week. Side effects are mild- upset stomach, mild headaches- but overall it's easy so far. I turned 69 the day of my bone marrow biopsy in December.

This just seems to be part of a pattern of bad lung outcomes after
FCR
treatment a year and a half ago. We are truly grateful for the complete remission of the CLL; but the recurrent lung trouble is wearing him out and frightening me. Just needed to share.

Offer of enrolling on CALiBRe trial
Do I take the chance to go virtually blind into this trial and accept the probability of succumbing to the side effects, diarrhea/colitis, pneumonia etc and without knowing the long term effects or should I decide to go down the
fcr
route with a little more knowledge to hand.

FCR commences
Home from my first day of
FCR
. Not as bad as I anticipated and I had no reaction to the "R" aspect - (hoping this isn't a bad sign that it won't work for me!) Feeling woozy but otherwise grand. Glad to have commenced and looking forward to a good night;s sleep - fingers crossed!

Sharing the good news
I started with a succesful
FCR
treatment in February 2011. After ending this treatment I started living ‘normally’ again, hard working, sports and enjoying life. But in February this year my WBC counts started being higher than normal and moved rapidly upwards in the next months.

FCR Bound
Following getting my second opinion with a CLL specialist this week, its now certain that I'm heading for
FCR
. My specialist: - confirmed that I need treatment now and can no longer wait.

FCR may CURE some of us - Dr Sharman
[i]"In today's CLL climate, web informed patients are rebelling against
FCR
- and in many cases, I think it is for good reason.
FCR
is a tough regimen. Even in the German CLL8 study, about 4% of patients die in the first 12 months after starting therapy.
