worried about my symptoms
I was diagnosed with
fatty
liver
about 15 years ago. Apart from lifestyle and diet I have had no treatment. I also have high cholesterol and triglycerides which run in the family. I have been a type 2 diabetic for 6 years.

Fatty Liver
I have recently been diagnosed with
fatty
liver
. I have been a heavy drinker for at least 25 years. My question is: How long will it take for my liver to recover if I abstain from alcohol completely? I understand that there is no set figure but any advice is appreciated. Thanks for your help

Advice on diet and fat content
As I have shared in my previous post that I am diagnosed with severe
fatty
liver
in January 2024. I have made lifestyle changes and lost nearly 13 kg of weight. I am burning nearly 900 calories per day through exercise and walking. I am on 1800 calories diet plan.

Ultrasound
I just received a ultrasound a couple days ago and it only mentioned
fatty
liver
. Am I reading too much into this? Was the fibroscan wrong?

GGT level
Hi, I was told that in 2015 I had a
fatty
liver
from having a scan for suspected gall stones. I wasn't told much more and no advice or follow up given. Last year I started getting pain and a kind of tight feeling on my right side just under my lowest rib.

Although could that be even possible as I’ve never had elevated lft’s before, so if I had
fatty
liver
I didn’t know about it. I’m getting repeat bloods done. Can anybody guide me a little bit pease as your knowledge of this area is far greater mine. Is 177 very high for Alp.

Novel Thyroid Hormone Transporter and Liver Issues
The second builds on that to try to identify why
fatty
liver
issues occur. But no real answers yet. We have had many members say that they suffer from
fatty
liver
disease. This might be worth a read.

good morning everyone. Saw my doctor the other day and I am so confused. He said I have fatty liver but not liver disease. What does he mean
The size had stayed the same but they noticed
fatty
liver
. The doctor isn’t concerned at all but I am having problems dealing with the diagnosis and lost too much weight. He has said I don’t have liver disease because my bloods are ok and that because I’ve lost the weight it may not progress.

Worried. High GGT & Fatty Liver
I've had my abdomen ultrasound done this morning and sonographer confirmed that I have
fatty
liver
, but wouldn't say how much or what stage because they don't report on that.

Positive news and maybe some useful feedback
Without this type of food and alcohol,
Liver
disease would be massively reduced.
Fatty
liver
disease is a modern disease that mankind has created. The last 'consultation I had was with a Hepatology nurse. It was by far the most indepth, caring experience I have had, other than from BLT volunteers.

Fibroscan update
I was sent for an ARFI ultrasound after this by my GP, which scored me as being at the lower end of F2 fibrosis ( 1.25m/s) with mild to moderate
fatty
infiltration. The ultrasound said 'the surface of the
liver
was mildy course indicative of underlying fibrotic change'.

hi everyone, I promised I would update you after my gastro appointment, there is not a lot to say really, he told me the past ct scan showed diffuse
fatty

and the ultrasound showed severe liver impairment, he then told me that the fibroscan done by them showed significant scarring, then showed

6-7 months?
The question I have is this: does it not seem like 6-7 months is an extremely rapid time frame for my
liver
to go from a mildly
fatty
liver
to cirrhosis? I know that none of you are doctors, but you've all had some experience with liver disease, so I wanted to get your impressions.
