I was diagnosed with fatty liver about 15 years ago. Apart from lifestyle and diet I have had no treatment.
I also have high cholesterol and triglycerides which run in the family. I have been a type 2 diabetic for 6 years.
I have a gp appointment tomorrow as my abdomen is swelling tremendously. At first it was after eating and drinking and now it is just all the time. My diabetes and hyperlipidemia are not responding as well to the meds I am on.
Any thoughts or advice?

Hi Yorkshirelad, it sounds like you really need this GP appointment and perhaps further tests. You have some big risk factors for your NAFLD having become worse - in the diabetes, high cholesterol etc.
You probably need some blood tests done, GP needs to percussion test your tummy to see if this is fluid build up that you are experiencing and you need a scan to see if this is fluid and to check whether your fatty liver has perhaps progressed. 15 years seems a long time without any follow up - there isn't really any treatment for it but they should have been monitoring you.
If it is fluid you need it to be dealt with a.s.a.p.
