I haven’t got much faith in my doctor really as he has overlooked my enlarged bile duct in the past. I noticed the report so I requested another ultrasound 12 months later. The size had stayed the same but they noticed fatty liver. The doctor isn’t concerned at all but I am having problems dealing with the diagnosis and lost too much weight. He has said I don’t have liver disease because my bloods are ok and that because I’ve lost the weight it may not progress. I’m going out of my mind because he is t concerned

good morning everyone. Saw my doctor the other day and I am so confused. He said I have fatty liver but not liver disease. What does he mean
"He has said I don’t have liver disease because my bloods are ok and that because I’ve lost the weight it may not progress"
I agree although no so accurate because fatty liver is abnormal finding. However it is a common condition which in most cases not so dangerous (if not NASH and fibrosis). But of course better keep an eye on it and try to lose weight and follow your doctor.

Go see another doctor, did you try to lose weight, also, bloods doesn't tell much only if you have inflammation going on at the time of the labs?
depending what kind of dr he is. Is he a specialist on liver disease? Or is he a regular family dr?
Bloodwork only tells some things doesn’t pin point whether you have liver disease.
I would ask to be referred to a specialist or get another opinion
