Can shingles have an adverse effect on GPA?
I have shingles along my sciatic nerve and wonder if it can affect my GPA. I am on Aciclovir which I hope will help with the symptoms and pain. Has anyone had any adverse effects. Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone has suffered with shingles since they have been on Ruxolitinib. I was diagnosed with MF 7 years ago.
I have been on Ruxo for 10 months which has been marvellous and has reduced my spleen by 50%, but still low hg and have started to itch again. Shingles appeared last week so am now taking 800mg 5 times a day of Aciclovir for 7 days. Have stopped the Ruxolitinid for a few days as one of the side effects

Rash on right arm.....it's shingles. Any advice welcome.
Went down to the vasculitis clinic this morning, a regular visit though I had rung ahead to ask if I needed to see a dermatologist. The rash on my arm had spread and added nasty little blisters in the centre of each area.....so it's not a reaction to antibiotics, or anything exotic, but just plain shingles

Any tips for shingles?
I'm on steroids and azothiaprine, so when I developed right sided chest pain at the end of last week, coming from the back round to the front, I was on the look-out for a rash. That appeared last night after four days of quite bad pain. The surgery were wonderful - I phoned at 8am when they opened and

Could this be pudendal neuralgia? If so, what would you recommend from your experience?
Back in the beginning of June 2013 I thought I was getting a UTI so went to the doctor who gave me trimethoprim. This made no difference in fact I then began getting a really bad itching and burning sensation around my genitals. Another doctor prescribed amoxicillin for non specific urethritis...again

How to get prescription for Valtrex instead of Aciclovir from NHS? herpes type 2
I have been taking Valtrex for my genital herpes (HSV 2) for last 5 years because it works faster for me than Aciclovir, and i do not have upset stomach from taking it. I have done lots of tests in my home country to determine Valtrex is best for me. Then i moved to the UK to study and i found out that

The WORST illness I've EVER endured!!!
I was just diagnosed with Viral Meningitis approximately 2 weeks ago. :( After 1 day from returning from a short vacation trip, I began to have a piercing headache that just didn't seem to want to go away. So I went back to work for 1 day and took lots of IB Profen & Excedrin all day, but it just wasn't

Lupus Pancreatitis
A little while ago there was a question about pancreatitis on this site. Since I have personal experience with the condition, I decided to blog about it. Below is a copy of the post I put up on my own website. The message I hope to convey is how serious pancreatitis can be and how essential it is to

Good results with plaquenil / Minocin combination
Just found this site, we live in the US. My daughter is now 20 and has had Behcet's for 4 years. She was diagnosed last year by chance at her college by a fabulous dermatologist. She began with a genital crater at age 16 that was so painful she could not void and ended up on Percocet 2 tabs every 3 hours

Widespread Shingles AGAIN! What treatments have other people been given?
Hello, I'm just returning to "life" after a month of Shingles, this time on my face, scalp, inside mouth, on stomach (and if the pain was anything to go by, it was in tummy also!!.) I had an endoscopy in Nov. whilst having a Shingles attack on my face, and I believe it was this that drew the virus inside
