Cystoscopy or not to cystoscopy
The urologist who referred me for the Ultra sound scan and cystoscopy is now away until the 29th August however the NHS have sent me an appointment for the cystoscopy next Friday, 16th. The urology department when making the appointment remarked that the USS had come back normal with no focal lesions

is tsh too low? rt3 too high? Please help
I recently ran my thyroid labs and I got low TSH and high rT3. Trying to figure out future dosing. I have been on levothyroxine for Hashimoto's at 75mcg + 1/2 pill of Thyroid-S per day for 3 years feeling pretty well with no scores much out of the ordinary. But, about 5 months ago, I

Impaired Sensitivity to Thyroid Hormones Associated with Central Obesity in Euthyroid Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with Overweight & Obesity
A paper of possible interest. But it could be turned round and made YOUR FAULT for having impaired sensitivity. And dislike the language where high levels of TT3RI and TFQIFT3 are referred to as if they are real substances. Not that they are indexes based on measurements. Diabetes Metab

Hi, I have just had my third set of blood tests done, following an increase to 100mg levothyroxin 8 weeks ago. My results are interesting. My (private) GP had a suspicion after my first lot of results (8 weeks on 50mg levothyroxin) that I may not be converting T4 to T3 well, and I think these results

NHS Testing
Hi - those of use lucky enough to be prescribed T3 on the NHS: Does your endocrinologist test T3 and T4 or just TSH? I know too many just rely on TSH but to the extent that they don’t even test T3 or T4 when you’re on Liothyronine? I had a monitoring test that seems to only have been TSH. I will

Taking carbimazole and ndt at the same time
I posted before with Radioiodine treatment, my last blood results in June were TSH <0.02mU/L (0.30-4.50), T4 13.4pmol/L (11-22), T3 5.3pmol/L (3.1-6.8). I had blood taken on August 21st and am struggling to get the results from the endo, I received a letter from them saying they had got the blood

Leading endos' replies to my question: "Can problems be caused by a suppressed TSH or high/over range T4/T3?"
So many of us are told by doctors that a very low/suppressed TSH will probably cause AFib or osteoporosis, and we have our dose reduced. We maintain that it's a high/over range T4 and T3 that may do that, not the TSH level. We say that as long as T4 and T3 are well within their reference ranges, we

Other blood results
I now have more results Serum folate 14.3 (3.1-17.5) Ferritin 138 (13-150) Iron 14 (5-28) B12 280 (200-940) Since they are in the range ‘everything is normal’! The coeliac one was clear so I can now try gluten free for 3 months to see if it makes any changes. But I am still tired, muscle aches

metative 11 vs Armour
I’ve now given up using Thyrogold and in sheer desperation ordered a batch of armour and a batch of metative 11. I am up to 4.25 grains of Thyrogold and my TSH increased again? But T3 and T4 marginally improved but to be honest I was taking biotin so that could be a false high. My question is who’s having

Trying to understand results
I posted back in May that my doctor increased Synthroid for the first time from 50 mcg to 75 mcg. I also take 5mcg of Liothyronine. I’ve been hypo, and positive for Hashimoto’s for about 18 years. I had my TSH, T4 and T3 checked this morning and need help understanding what these results indicate

is this ok?
thyroid uk saidHi I am assuming that you are not already on treatment. I can see that your TSH is just above the range which indicates you do have a thyroid problem. Your FT4 (thyroxine in the blood) is right at the bottom of the range so, again it shows that your thyroid is struggling. On top

Reducing to 25mcg Levo only
Hi all. Just wondered if anyone has ended up on 25 mcg Levo only (no T3 or NDT) as an ongoing, not starter dose? Just had my bloods back (below) and my TSH remains low and T3 high despite dropping from 75 to 50 Levo 3 months ago. TSH .01 ( .3 - 4.2 ) T4 15 ( 9 - 19 ) T3 5.9 ( 3 - 5.4 ) GP

I have just had a set of results back and they r as follows: TSH 1.44 (0.27-4.2) T4: 16.6 (12.0-22.0) T3: 7.1 (3.1-6.8) As you can see my T3 is too high. I take 75mg of T4 each day And 10mg T3 three x a week. Is lowering my T3 as simple as reducing the amount I take? Perhaps to 10mg twice a week

Blood Test Results
Hello again, I have just had a full blood test ( T3 not tested of course). I wondered if anyone could give me some advice please. I was hoping to increase my T4 but Dr wanted to do a blood test first Currently taking 75mg (but I have increased this amount myself to 100mg) so these are results based

t3 only or combination t3/t4
I’ve been working with a private gp to see if t3/t4 will work better as I appear to be a poor converter I have had some improvement in fatigue and mood symptoms but the severe muscle tension has come back, The doctor is German and she says it is common to test rt3 and if it is high to consider t3
