Healthy drinking?
We spend so much of our time on this forum on food, I thought I might spend a bit of time talking about the drinks that I focus on.
Water:
I don't filter my water (yet) though I do plan to buy a good table top filter at some stage. You can get good filters for a few hundred pounds that get rid

Giving up the 5:2 diet...
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of the 5:2 and it was a massive help in slowly getting me to change my eating ways. First by recognising real hunger to boredom hunger. And then for making better calorie choices and portion sizes. It got me on the road to my weight loss! But now I count calories daily

Slow and Steady
So I finally decided (after a lot of coaxing from my wife) to start exercising and dieting, its been about 18 days and I've lost 6.5 lbs so far and counting. Now to put that in perspective, I weighed 16.1 stone when I started and as per my BMI on NHS I am considered OBESE with a BMI of 36 @ 32 years

Struggling to keep weight on..
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue as me... I used to weigh around 7.7 stone to 8 stone and for the last 6 months I've been 7.4 stone. I can't seem to put weight on to get back to 8 stone. I eat 3 times a day but rarely snack. I'm not ill very much as severe IBS attacks are rare

Quinoa and lentil veggie casserole, gluten free š„
Hi everyone, I've been eating lots of quinoa mixed with lentils as I just love the combination. I came across quinoa when searching for alternatives to wheat and was pleased that quinoa is a complete food as it contains all the vital nutrients we need to live on. So is a true superfood. Lentils also

We're here to help!
I'm sorry you are struggling with this. Have you consulted a good therapist to help you through this? We are pretty good at letting you know that you're not alone here on this site but I for one am not a professional and would be devastated if I gave you miss information. Are you only binge eating or

Calories in a banana!
Ok I'm making a HUGE effort to be good and eat a banana tomorrow. But what is its calories? Online gives all these figures of 100g or a cup of a "medium" size. My banana is 182g on the scale with its peel. When online says 100g is that peeled or weight unpeeled??

Possible Cure?!
Hi. I am a 45 year old man. I have suffered with IBS for most of my adult life. I have had my entire digestive system checked along with all the usual blood tests. No diagnosable conditions have been found, hence the final diagnosis of IBS. I have recently also been diagnosed with an overactive bladder

Binge eating disorder/food addiction/obesity
Hello everyone, I'm new here. I assume this is a UK forum? Anyways, I think I may suffer from a binge eating disorder. I already suffer from OCD, anxiety, depression, Asperger's, PCOS, psoriasis and being morbidly obese. I am currently under the mental health team in my area, but I am not sure if they're

Influence of gut microbiome on brain function
This is a little off-topic, but this paper links a whole lot of auotimmune diseases + anorexia to changes in the intestinal microbiome and the brain. This might give some clues to posters here who have similar problems. MINI REVIEW ARTICLE Front. Endocrinol., 12 February 2019 | https://doi.org/10.3389

Binge eating
Hi all, Iām struggling with weight loss and I know itās down to binge eating. Iāve been in and out of slimming groups for around four years and itās just a vicious cycle. I have previously lost some weight by just being more aware of what I eat, but then I soon plateaued and then continued to binge

Coming off pregabalin now.
Hi all pretension takers, I am being weaned off pregabilin as I type, I am now on my 4th week of gradual withdrawl. I started off on 300mg a day and I am now on 150mg. My doctor did earn me that addicts say that coming off pregabilin is worse than coming off methadone. I thought she was exaggerating

Plant based diet protein
My PCP strongly suggested a 90% plant based diet (due to cancer and rising cholesterol). I am tracking my food intake and am not getting enough protein and getting too many carbs. Any suggestions for high protein food combinations? Also, I can have limited whole soy but not processed. Thanks
