Hey I don’t really know where else to post this cuz I’m really struggling and can’t see my doctor for a bit, but lately I’ve been having some issues where I’m very shaky and not hungry at all and suddenly I’m hungry all at once very often and I’m unsure what to do, I’m also having a lot of issues falling and staying asleep (I’ve tried every over the counter sleep aid) and I have an appt soon with my doctor but I’m so scared and nervous, I’m trying to drink lots of water and eat meals with bran and protein but I don’t know if anyone has any recommendations or advice, this page has always been good for my mental and emotional support so maybe you have some advice for me now (I think the sleep problem is just cuz I’m going through a hard time grieving but still any tricks for that helps) sorry this post is all over the place

Hi Malumaf,
I wonder if what you are experiencing is grief? You have only recently lost your beloved dog in tragic circumstances. Don't underestimate the effects grief has on our emotions, physical symptoms etc. Grieving a pet is often more painful and harder to deal with than losing a human companion. They give us so much unconditional love, loyalty, companionship, and are always there listening to and loving us no matter what mood we maybe in. I know this because our family lost our beloved, beautiful little Sheltie last year, and the gut-wrenching ache and pain I experienced were beyond words, and I was in a very dark place. The pain has got less, but I still miss him so much. You need to give yourself time and space to grieve, and there is no timeline for this, as everyone experiences grief differently. Having a chat with your GP and getting supportive therapies could be really helpful. I don't know if you live in the UK as your profile doesn't mention that. But in the UK the Blue Cross animal charity have a pet bereavement service and helpline which maybe helpful: bluecross.org.uk/how-we-hel... If you live elsewhere, maybe you can Google for a similar service in your country.
Hope this helps,
Best wishes,

Vegetarian diet might normalise things for, like lots of cabbage, greens and moolie (turnip). Snacks are fruits and salads.
Ya know and I’ve read good things about that and I’m strongly considering it, just need to do research on how to get protein and iron
Grief does take time.. no rush. Your mind and body needs to heal from your grief. Comfort yourself the nicest way you can think of. Like talking with a friend, draw some pictures of the person Orvieto you lost, remember kindly and fondly of good times. Cry or weep for them.. share pictures or stories about who you are grieving about with kind ears. Be good to yourself.
