Hi I keep wondering to myself will I ever get anywere near a better life than Ive been lumbered with since RA. Good (ish) days are very few and far between and when I get a good day (I know I shouldnt) but I always make the most off it and end up suffering for days. Yesterday was a good day so my better

A Trip to the Locum
I had a fab weekend, I started to think that the Enbrel had kicked in. I played in the band at two functions and went off roading (I managed to climb in the land rover with the aid of a box and some gentle persuasion from a friend - Bit graphic so won't go there!!) I remember thinking as my sports bra

Enbrel, side effects and anxiety?
Has anyone suffered anxiety with enbrel? never had this strange feeling like this, waiting for the doctor to ring back. I had my first injection last Friday. I feel axious, not quite myself but healthwise the best I've been in ages.

I never learn
What a week. Overdid it the other day cleaning the hob and oven and also polishing the copper kettle which sits on the hob cover as it was filthy,. My cleaner only wipes over the top of the hob cover. What with all the scrubbing (cleaning an oven is not my idea of fun!), - I also did the kitchen floor

Reaction to not taking enbrel or just my RA?
so my story continues....... Due to extreme hardness in my shoulders, thighs, neck and chest I was told by the consultant not to have my enbrel on Thursday. They did not no if the hardness was a reaction. Good news is the hardness has reduced dramatically :-) I had been on enbrel for 7 weeks

News from the Castle
Well, as you all know, our VIP visit on Tuesday went off very well and we all pushed off to a dinner in the Town Hall in the evening. Jaw and shoulder blade are fine now (until the next time) and apart from odd twinges in my fingers, the RA seems to have settled again, although my knees are not too

Birthday Girl
Feeling really depressed today. Must be getting older. Birthdays are not the same as they used to be. Been to physio and had my shoulder very gently manipulated. The main trouble seems to be the end of the collar bone. As I see my Rheumy tomorrow I am to suggest to him a steroid injection into the

Alarms and ups and downs
Morning all, haven't blogged for a while as been up to my eyes in the appeal for the church bells. Have written and sent 84 letters, completed the Heritage Lottery Fund application, although not yet sent off as waiting for some paperwork to arrive, sent endless e mails, collected various amounts of

My daughter is showing first spots of chicken pox, I'm on mxt and enbrel?
Hello again, I have done a search on previous post regarding shangles/chicken pox but problem is that there is no avoiding her! I am not showing any symptoms whatsoever but from what I understand is that enbrel can mask this. I will ring RA nurse tomorrow but sometimes it takes a few days for

My very positive blog!
When I was diagnosed I searched desperately for any hope, when I found this site I found it from many of you, Gina’s especially as whenever I read her blogs I always felt up lifted as (I hope you don’t mind my talking about you Gina!) in case you are not aware she achieved remission albeit a ‘chemically

What's next after anti tnfs?
I have tried mtx which I had a severe reaction too, then had sulphazine which made my white blood count drop to 0.2. After being admitted to hospital I qualified for anti tnfs, I am 7 weeks in and been told my consultant to stop the injection this week to see if the hardness in my skin goes down (mentioned

I'm new here, did Enbrel quit working for anyone else?
I took Enbrel a few years ago and it was like a miracle drug for me. I didn't know how badly I felt until I felt better. It worked for about three years and then I was in big trouble. I had a reaction with Remicade IV, Cimzia and Simponi didn't help either, so after a year and a half with no relief my

Coughs and Sneezes spread diseases.
Well, the wretched cold which had been hanging around for a week not doing much in particular, finally woke up and got going Wednesday evening. Had a very bad night, unable to breathe through my nose as so bunged up, coughing and sneezing and finally took myself off into the spare room but still couldn't
