Hi Wiliby. I don't think it is the Enbrel which is causing you anxiety, not after 1 injection. I have been on it for almost 2 years now and not had any problems with anxiety that I didn't have before. I would think you are just a bit anxious about the whole RA thing in general and perhaps a little worried about the effects of Enbrel over the longer term. But discuss with your GP as I am sure they can re assure you. LavendarLady x

I think in your case Wiliby that lavender has given given some good advice.( she seems very sensible and reassurring especially as she has been using it for two years, only in some v rare cases... and with time( ie not after first injection) enbrel can alter the mood but upward!! and probably only if some one had a pre dispostion for mood changes

Thankyou LavenderLady and Alison,

Think I just needed to hear that! phoned back doctors and said not to bother ringing me but I'll call nurse if need to. I'll hold off, I don't want to be given even more drugs unless I really need them.

Also, stopping both sulphasalazine and hydroxichloriquine (excuse the spelling) at once, would that have an effect?

I think after all these months worrying about whats going to happen, then suddenly after only a few days on Enbrel I feel really well, when I should be glad and enjoying feeling so good my mind continued to worry!!! it makes sense to me!! :)

I know this is way too early for Enbrel to work surely but I really do feel a difference with pain and stiffiness.....

Hi Wiliby. Yes it is a bit too early for the Enbrel to work. I stopped the Hydroxychlorquin after 6 months as it did nothing for me at all. don't know about the Sulphasalazine as never been put on it. The combination of MTX and Enbrel should begin to make you feel better and more in control of the RA over the next few weeks. Do call the nurse if you need to - they are always helpful and ready to give advice and suggestions.

Hope all goes well. LavendarLady xx

Thank you, as I said to Cathie (below) back to myself again, I thought it was too early but I did feel last week I was starting to feel better before the Enbrel but my consultant suggested we go ahead with the enbrel and reduce swelling even more...

ahhh, good to feel happy again :) xx

I'm very glad to hear you're feeling well. At least it's a good time of year to enjoy it. And check out deep breathing exercises if you're feeling anxious. I find if I'm up to it, that walking rhythmically can do the same thing

Cathie

Thanks Cathie, I like the sound of that, feel a tad silly today wondering where on earth did that come from! I took son and daughter out for pizza and toy shopping and the world was fine again :)

Think I will go for that walk later, thank-you
