How do I lose weight?
I'm trying to lose weight over the summer period and wondered how exactly to go about it. I'm reading a lot of success stories but wondered what exactly you all did to lose such fantastic amounts of weight. I'd ideally like to lose between 1 and 2 stone- ambitious I know, but I'm really determined to

Time for a change......again
So I have just returned from my second all inclusive holiday abroad in the last month considerably rounder and at my heaviest weight ever. I have decided that I need to make a lasting change. I am currently tipping the scales at 12st 10lbs and have been hovering around 12st (give or take) since I was

Mental Health vs Body Health
I'm currently feeling a bit down. There's no real reason, or not one I've pinned down as yet. Taking the medication as usual. It's not the depression I want advice on, it's the impact it has on my thoughts of food! I'll eat rubbish because that's all I deserve. But I know that's 'all in my head' and

Reflexology - did I really pay for turture!
I decided to try Reflexology this week. It was just a half hour taster session & very interesting but painful too! I often think my hashi was brought on by a number of things. Years of very stressful situations including family illness, a whiplash injury and finally it was a virus that finished

My eating is completely controlled by calories and a need to eat same/less than my husband - does anyone else continually compare like this?
Anorexic for 30+ years - my husband needs to lose weight - I as a very underweight anorexic of 30+ years need to gain weight. My brain seems to have an automatic calorie counter - and I can't make myself eat more than my husband - so as he's cut back so have I and gradually my weight has slipped downwards

Getting out of control...Bulimic/Type 1 Diabetic
Basically here's the story (sorry for the length of it) I have been making myself sick for a year and a half now and I remember so clearly the day it started! Was due to go on a night out, felt really fat so did it and lost a few pounds (I know I didn't look any different but I felt better). Back when

very low calorie without classes?
Hi, I am overweight and have just joined this link although I use a few of the others. I'm 63 and am sedentary by nature although I used to be lively and on the go a lot, but never sporty or into keep fit. I have joined the gym but dislike going alone, so if anyone lives in St Helens and wants to

Ok - I'm outta here...
I've posted twice on this forum and twice I've been shot down in flames - once by someone who got angry that they thought I was blaming my doctor for my weight gain (I wasn't, all i said was he refused to weigh me) and the other who, when I - like a dog with two tails - announced i had lost four pounds

Boy, this really works!
there's been many posts recently of people being disheartened. I'd like to share my success and hope that it encourages you to perhaps try the lowcarb option--if the low fat option isn't working for you. I'm huge right now. 27 stone and 8 pounds but in the last week I have lost 8 pounds and since

Please enlighten me
Just lately I have been going through a very bad patch. Not sure if it is anxiety or depression or physical illness. The obvious answer is for me to go and see the doctor. However I do

Medication
I have looked at the list of medication and my two tablets Tegretol and citalopram do clash. Will this interfere with my weight loss. When I spoke to the instructor at WW she said the tablet was too small to make any difference! Will it effect my metabolism?

Really fed up now!
Hi, Had a very useful website- My Fitness Pal - recommended by someone else on this site. Great easy way to count calories. It suggested I was not eating enough calories and that my body was storing fat because it thought I was starving myself! Ok, I thought, could be right as all my totals for the

Starting again!!!
Been a little while since I've blogged...guess what I'm back where I started. Basically followed healthy eating, calorie counting (which was working for me) and exercise. This worked for me but for some reason fell off the wagon and decided the only way to lose by baby weight within the nine month

Reboot then shutdown. Anyone else feel like this?
Ever since things kicked off with my mental illness about 8 months ago, I constantly feel like I'm rebooting and then shutting down on a daily basis. My mind can feel clear and the headaches ease, I feel content and happy. Then, not long after this feeling, something will happen that will cause stress

Does anyone have a parent suffering from anorexia?
My mother who is in her fifties has had a eating disorder as long as I can remember (I'm in my thirties). She was committed to hospital about twenty years ago initially by my grandmother and at the beginning of last year she voluntarily went to a eating disorder unit and was there for about seven months
