I'm new here : Ulcerative colitis
Hello, my daughter has suffered terribly badly from Ulcerative Colitis for about 5 1/2yrs. In the first 19 months, she took Prednisolone on a regular basis as this was the only drug that managed to control it. As steroids is not a long term solution, she was on a 6-8 weekly Vedolizumab (one of the

Chronic side stitch
The doctor sent me for lab tests, barium
enema
, physio consult, respiratory consult, GI consult. But I still have no answers. I recently heard of slipping rib syndrome and I wonder if that is the problem but it could be anything.

Bowel endo surgery and enema
I've booked in for July 24th, and had a chat with the bowel surgeon, he said they'll do an
enema
to clean out my bowel should they need to do anything internally; it should all be on the outer surface, but that's fine. What does an
enema
involve? And will I be awake?

The coffee enema
This seems controversial and strong views in each camp but anyone out there doing this or have any experience to share. I’m always interested in complementing my treatments with other tools/supplements etc.

In Focus: Diet - Bowels
Dear All One of the requests for this month's focus on diet was some information about bowels and diet. Almost all of you will have had abdominal surgery and as you'll know, this can have a huge impact on your bowels, some temporary and some ongoing. Bowel issues can be something people are reluctant

Does anyone know of a good pain consultant, in or reasonably near the East Berks/South Bucks borders? - If so, please pm me with details.
I was referred to a local colorectal surgeon on the NHS, but I had a terrible first consultation with him - which included him performing a flexi sigmoidoscopy on me without my consent and without me having an
enema
first (which meant that my rectum and sigmoid colon couldn't be viewed properly because

FED up with laxatives and trying older enema protocols that apparently are more effective.
Inspired by https://www.bedwettingandaccidents.com we learned this is the gold standard treatment that seems to have fallen out of fashion. Doc approved a mini MOP and we are trying it out.

Post hospital treatment
Managed 5 sachets on 4th day then passed what was left after
enema
. Since home 1 month now taking 1 in morning & 1 at night. Have started to mix with water then add to milk or hot chocolate as never did previously ( and worked?) so hope this is better?

9 year old sons “constipation “
Hi Everyone, after 6 years my son has finally been referred to a specialist after years of being told he will grow out of Chronic constipation. We haven’t seen our specialist yet but son recently had a trip to a&e and then overnight stays as he had many blockages and poop fluid backed up into his intestines

Hi 👋 Happy Mothers Day to all 😊
She was extremely unwell, feeling very weak and sick, in and out of A&E several times until they eventually gave her an
enema
which thankfully helped a lot. Although she was quite weak she definitely improved in the days to follow and had some really good days probably the week or so in between.
